    Day one and two of the Fatman Scooter build

    Progress on the rebuild of this 1980 Vespa I am restoring for Fatman.

    Day one....





    Day two...(no help showed so I did this little progres myself) Sorry but its a phone cam shot. Better ones tomorrow.



    AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!

    Day one included:

    All new body rubber grommets
    New wiring harness installed.
    All new cables run, both inners and outers.
    Wired up Battery side including attaching Voltage regulator and flasher unit.
    Installed front mud gaurd onto front hub and installed the front shaft.
    This included packing grease into and installing bearings and lock nuts.
    Secured and set shaft free play.
    Installed one tire (front) to protect hub.

    Day Two:

    Painted Gas Tank (previously cleaned) and Speedo surround.
    Cleaned and polished Brake and Clutch levers.
    Installed headset.
    Installed Speedo and indicators into head set cover
    Touched up paint
    Installed Front emblem and Front cowl trim.
    Installed Front and rear turn indicator lamps.
    Install glove box door lock

    Tomorrow? finish head set install and start hooking up cables and wiring up there...

      You have a nice garage, why not use it to restore a nice old car instead of scooters though?

          Thats actually my Work Shop at work. My garage here at home is too full of Bikes, Pool table and stuff to work on scooters in!

          I am working simultaneously on two right now. This Red one that I was building to sell that Fatman now wants.

          ...and a 1977 Sprint Veloce 150cc Vespa. This last one if for my Boss. He bought it out of Kentucky and we are stripping it down now. Needs a total engine rebuild and we painting it too.
