just to preface this, i'm not angry about any of this discussion, and these are not necessarily my beliefs (nor were they necessarily in my second post), i just love the ideas that a good discussion brings to the surface.

foo- "'If you can't say your own message then you deserve to feel bad for not being yourself, and stuff' that is a load of crap."
was takin out of context (it was even taken a bit out of context when i quoted it)
i was referring to him saying that in referrence to people who say they identify with a bands message, in other words, i interperetted it to mean him say "you can't identify with a bands mesage, you should be original and have your own thoughts" granted have your own thoughts is a good thing, and only focusing on one band's views is a bad thing, but i think you can definately listen to a band just because you identify with a that bands message, but you should in turn add your own ideas and other ideas you agree with to make up your thoughts and beliefs, but the way he said it, to me, sounded rather close minded and, no offense, but stupid (i prolly just missinterpretted it)

the second part about calling people small minded because they can't choose what kind of music they like was just to get a rise out of some one so that they would join in the conversation, so i could see their views as well, i love all types of music, my parents were music majours and thus accordingly i have been exposed to many different types of music i like, just to name a few, grunge, jazz, swing, big band, classical, concert band, punk, geek rock, emo....granted there are some bands and genres i don't like, and won't but i'm not close minded nor do i believe people who listen to all types of music are small minded

thats about it.... man i shouldn't have written that much i still have a report to write that was dew two weeks ago tomorrow. blah.

Well... ive been defending you people this whole time, and still dont have a legit flame for you, but calling me to weak minded to like just one thing is just plain ignorant.

In fact, its downright hypocritical. I listen to a ton of music, because im a music lover. I know whats good, and I know whats bad. Just because I enjoy a lot of GOOD music doesnt mean a thing... in a fact it means im NOT narrow minded enough to like one genre of crap.

So there you have it, mabe YOU should quit being so narrow minded and listen to more than just emo.

To lazy. I was responding solely to angelbeast who apparently thinks he knows more about music than me because he listens to only one genre... which is retarded.
