Does anyone know about plastics?! school project

OK. for engineering we had to design a cd player holder to put in you car so that the portable cd player doesnt slide allover the dashboard...("why not get a cd deck?") IDK it was an assignment. anyways we designed one but need to know what kinda of plastic to make it out of. any ideas? anybody? help.....

Nylon. Yes, nylon. Not to flexible, not to hard. If you need some, lemme know, I might be able to hook you up (free of course) Im not sure though.

EDIT: I AM pretty farmiliar with different types of plastics, so any questions, feel free to ask.

Hey man I go to school for industrial design/special effects. Have you made molds yet? As far as plastics go I would recommend silicon gi-1000(pretty solid stuff and it will stick to smooth surfaces) or urethan(sp?) plastics. If you want to machine it nylon is a decent choice but there is better stuff out ther and I would go the way of molding and then using silicon or urethan. check out smooth-on plactics website im not sure what it is, just look it up on google but they are the plastic pimp

haha. well we wouldnt be able to do a big project on it if all we used was velcro

I made one with velcro as well.

lol if you ask me, velcro is the best solution. it's cheap, and nothing will keep the cd player safer.

lol. i cant help it. i suggested it but it doesnt fit the "assignment criteria" and i guess the point isnt really to invent a cd player holder, but rather learn about the engineering design process all together so it doesnt really matter what we're making....but, yes, velcro would be better.
