I live in Ohio and my AO clock is on GMT-6 and it is correct. Set it back to GMT-7 and it should be correct

The "error" is because neither the AO server nor the time offset for any users is programmed for the difference between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time.

Also do not forget that its now called "Coordinated Universal Time" or abreviated UTC.... Also commonly designated with the letter Z for Zulu time.

And it does not take into account a time zone adhearing to Daylight Savings Time. Which would account for your hour. Its not observed world round so you have to calculate that into your conversion.

The time here is messed up.

Ohio is never -6, (only -5 or -4), but I had to set it to -6 to get the times to be right.
