I don't understand
How you can call the blatant christianization of out supposedly free country Howard Stern being a drama queen. Does he go over the top sometime? Yeah. Most of the time? Probably. But the recent events and legislation that is being enacted is not simple drama queen stuff. These fines and the "tighter" regulations on the entertainment industry is an overt attempt by the right wing to impose their christan morals on this country and it is not right.
Since the Super Bowl Half Time Show there has be a strong push to eliminate "indecent" programing in all facets of the media. What is indecent though? I was frankly rather pleased to see Janet Jackson's exposed breast, I thought it very decent of her to give me a look-see. Was that neccessarily the most appropriate place to do it? No, but then again you were not forced to watch it. I understand that there is the expectation that the SB 1/2 time show will be family oriented but that is a seperate issue. Much of the current debate surrounds Howard Stern and his "offensive and indecent" (personally I find it neither) brand of humor. As many of you know Clear Channel pulled Stern from six large markets for a callers use of the word "nigger", now this caller was hung up immediately and this word is not banned or sanctioned in anyway by the FCC. Regaurdless it was a business decision by Clear Channel to pull Stern. This is in their rights but there have been many instances in which both Radio Executives and Congresspeople have stated that Stern should not be allowed on the publics airwaves. Now I was not aware that I had part ownership of the airwaves. I was under the impression that the radio industry operated the same as other market systems where as products and services are provided to meet demand. I may be wrong but it seems that there is a high demand for Sterns show and last I checked no was forced to listen to it.
So I implore all those out there who wish to be able to say what you want ahen you want to not take this lightly. The chritianization of America has begun and we must fight it. I do not hate christians, everyone has their own thing, but I LOVE my freedom of speech and expression and I fear that it's days are numbered. You don't have to like Stern or me or what I am saying but I ask that you help me fight for the right to say it because one day you will have something to say and if you don't fight now you may not have the right to say it later.
Sorry for the rant just had to get it out.Comment

Wow. I love Howard's show and I for one see this new legislation forcing him out. Reason being that in the past he's been fined for describng pooping, ejaculations etc. Either way these are things that we AS HUMANS do. If you don't want to hear that type of talk then don't listen. Fact is he's rated #1 in many areas. People obviously like listening to him to hear what is gonna happen next. Which brings up the if you don't like it, don't listen to it. No one is forced to listen to the radio, in fact most kids aren't even awake when Howard is on the air. Heck I'm barely awake when he's on. I do see this as a form of McCarthyism. It's becoming a witch hunt and the religious factor is doing the hunting. Also reminds me of South Park the Movie. Parents are quick to blame others but not themselves and by doing so are getting rid of things others enjoy. Anyways. It's sad to see this happen and watch people follow it like sheep, and not realize that it's gonna effect quite a bit of things.Sorry, I'm oldComment

Drama Queen indeed!
He needs to realize that there are more important things in life then his show. To anyone out there trying to take him off the air, guess what there are more important things out there then his show to worry about!
