I also don't like the idea that mods can ban people for any word they find annoying.

i say its time for the mods to allow the users to police themselves, or for someone like AGDJon(sorry to dump this on your shoulders but you know i like ya and think you like relatively everyone), to go inot the chatroom when the mods don't know its you, and watch what the do, better yet, i can just send you a few days worth of logs, and show you how they act. There is no reason for them to act all high and mighty, swear openly when users can't, and do other things that we normally get kicked for, ops does not give you a reason/right to treat users like garbage.

and let me add one thing: This is not a all mod affliction...only 3-4 of them have gone power mad....most of them could care less...maybe time to remove op powers for a while and give it to other people...maybe a changing of the guard, and no, i aint saying i should get ops...god knows i don't want them, but there are other people who would probably do a very good job being ops in #automags.

Its quite simple, the trout slap was over used and it was getting out of hand. I have ask several time for people to cut it out, and we see how well that worked, so I was forced to just ban the word from being used.

Your right I dont chat much, I watch the screen from my sales counter and I do read a lot of whats been going on. Some of teh regulars have gotten out of hand with a lot of things, I hate Tater tighten up his script and talked to him also about letting things fly with regulars.

People used ! # $ to get around filter in chat is just like gettng around them here on AO. Ever time I tweak a setting, someone finds a way to push it again so I have to keep adding things to the filter.

I would rather not have to do this but people have consistantly shown that if you give them an inch leeway then they will take a full yard.

Spydarm - You got blacklisted from something thats been in my script for 7 years its a ban on blah, it started as a joke, and it just went away, I thought I had removed that blacklist item.

You need to stop being suck a baby about things. You have no social skills and thats typically why you get bans. And btw when you do something stupid to someone with a boy friend or family member that has some control power you should EXPECT bans.

Thordic - You just whine to hear your own voice, I warned every one in chat last night about the trout, and you continue to to push me on it. If people didnt keep whining about it and kick off my script I would have removed the protection on the word by now. Its that simple.

BTW guys and gals just because you dont see me in the channel dosent mean I am not logging it and reading later. The crap I am seeing when you all dont think I am about is going to stop.

just gonna respond to the part to me:

as i said to you in a pm i just sent you, a private msg on the chat or on the board would have easily changed my ident as it is a simple setting to change and i would have done it without any issue. You were in a channel i was in at some point and didnt even bother to mention it.

as to the second point: things that happen 3 months in the past should go away, those who are older than me, or pretend to be more mature than me, should act that way rather than act immaturely. I have tried apologizing, and making nice and have been rebuffed at every effort.

I'm sorry, I thought speaking out against something you thought was stupid/abusive was still allowed in this country? It may be over a stupid incident, but the principle of the thing remains.

As for "warning", first off, I was idling in chat, and second, warning me about a rule that should have no basis in reality isn't going to deter me.

Whats this trout thing about. I cant use the chat room cause I am on a mac. Sounds kinda stupid from both ends. No flaming. I see the point that both sides are trying to make and can agree with each. Personally I think that people should stop using the word trout out of context and the ban should be lifted. Also mods you need to understand that people are annoying to you might not be annoying to other people. As long as it doesnt offend anyone let them be annoying. They will weed themselves out. Nuff said. Stop being annoying and we can all be happy.
