    deep thoughts

me and some friends were talking in class the other day and we started talking about phylosophy <misspelled leave me alone>. the question eventually came up, how do we know that we see the same colors the same way as everyone else? like if you are looking at a black object with white writing on it does someone else see it as a white object with black writing? could we have all just learned what we see as the colores and like figured out that our purple is everyone elses black? is this possible?

also what are yall's thoughts on the universe. do yall think that it will expand forever, equilise and stay at a certain point or will it collaps on itself eventually?

another thing, what does chicken really taste like? why does every other food have a distinct taste yet chicken tastes like what ever you put on it. chicken doesnt really have much of a taste. is that why we say everything tastes like chicken?

    my final question...

why does my mother never keep enough coockies in the house? i'm allways wanting to much something and i have a constant craving for coockies and there are never enough.

    help me out

The first ones require too much thinking and typing, and I'm tired. But about the last one, how much do you eat? I have the problem here at school cause I can't afford any food, but back home. I'm in heaven.

i eat the chips ahoy coockies by the tube one tube per sitting. that means that the bag only lasts 2 snacks. she buys one a week. thats 5 days without coockies!

and about food in general, i try to eat everywhere else as often as possible. everything my mom makes tastes like water. she cooked spagetti with chilli sauce before ( if that gives you some idea of how her food tastes). not only does she cook poorly, but she finds one thing to cook and cooks it like twice a week for a month or so then moves on to another thing to cook all the time.

      as for deep thoughts....

yall have all these nice statistics and tips and stuff for paintball but nobody can help me to ponder the universe?
      come on pondering is fun

Here's one that always drives me nuts when i try and think about it. If the universe is always expanding, then what does it expand into? What does this 'place' look like? I mean if it expands, it has to expand into something, right, so what does it go into?? it can't be nothingness, it has to be something. Theoretically, if you could travel to the end of the universe, to the point where it's expanding into this 'new space', could you go into this 'new space'. If you went there, where would you be? You wouldn't be in the universe anymore, so if you weren't in the universe anymore do you exist?uuuuuggghhhhh, i better stop now, this kinda stuff requires too much thinking for christmas break, plus it gives me a headache. I do have more thoughts like this though, i'd like to see what everyonee else thinks about this stuff too....pure craziness!!

some people see colors differently...sometimes i have to argue with my bf about it (he has red/green deficiency). no wonder his clothes never match...lol.

umm...about the cookies...you should be able to spell anything you put in your mouth.

WOWEE! I think about that all the time! Maybe thats why some people get like blue and purple and red and orange confused!

I think that you and mouse from the matrix share the same thoughts. Maybe chicken doesn't taste like everything else, maybe everything else just tastes like chicken. Maybe things that people say taste like chicken really don't but the person can't find a better description of what their senses are telling them. Maybe chicken strikes a common sense of taste that is incorporated with other foods and thats why a lot of things 'taste like chicken'. Maybe there is no expanding universe but a neverending recycling of what there is already. Maybe, oneday, the universe will swallow us all like a peice of chicken.

So far, in theory....if a person is born with a blue eye and a brown eye color, scientists believe they will see the inverse of colors as we know them. Such as all yellow/whites would appear black, and theres no way to test this because these colors will be known as "bright" to them, or perhaps they are correct and we all see colors incorrectly, maybe color doesnt even exist?

I thought of those a while ago, and on my own too I'm just smart. Same with with smell and taste. Maybie everyone likes the same colors, smells and tastes, but what smells like one thing to one person smells like another to you.

I've thought this too! I am actually colour blind and know that I see things differently to others. I've often thought exactly the same things you have.

You know the colour blind tests? I've done so many that I can train myslef to beat them. I can see the answer for a colour blind person and I can also see the 'correct' answer. I can choose to be colour blind or not when doing such tests I know some people who can only see them one way.

I can't tell the difference at a distance though of people wearing red or green... I can when they are close up.

What is worse for me is trying to see people in the woods. So I use a yellow lense (which helps me) and look for movement.

The color thing has bothered me for a while, try describing colors, as if the person was blind. Not cool!

None of your questions can be answered by me, or my brain with explode.

One brown eye and one blue eye??

Actually the truth is that it doesn't matter in the least what color our eyes are as to how we see colors. Located in our retinas are these nerve cells called rods and cones. Rods are light sensitive and cones are sensitive to color spectrum. For instance a person like myself , or Manike, that have fewer red/green sensitive cones have trouble distiguishing the paler shades of these colors. I often mistake pale lavenders for pale blues because my eyes lack the sufficient cones to pick up the traces of red in the lavender. On the up side I get cut some slack in art school if my colors aren't just perfect on my projects.

What if color of eyes DOES have something to do w/ it...what if everyone with what we call blue eyes sees colors differently then someone who has brown eyes? theres now way of telling and perhaps the rods and cones show this, but it is so minute, hidden away in the DNA sequencing that we have no hope of finding it any time soon....things to ponder, yes
