airbag sensors for the front airbags are usally in the front bumper. i think i see the side airbags deployed .
i had a pretty bad accident in my VW GTI and at first i thought i avoided the accident then looking around i noticed a airbag in my face and my sunroof glass falling on me.

Don't underestimate the mailbox, it cause $2000 worth of damage to my fathers truck because is dragged all down the side.
Now if he had listend to me and invested the $300 in a grill guard...
