Do you have tonsil stones or "tonsilloths" everything you need to know here

Well they are pretty much these little white-ish yellow-ish balls that form in the back of your throat, and sometimes you cough them up and they smell like poop, i mean really bad gross poop. Most are pea sized

Well i've got em.

What they are- a buildup of mucous, dead skin cells, and bacteria (thats the bad smelling part)

how they form- Mucous and Dead skin cells get carried to the back of your throat, in order to get tonsil stones you must have tonsil flaps, or little holes. The mucous and skin cells buildup in those flap things and then bacteria come running in and feast on that crap that gets trapped in there. Its a pretty good assumption if you get a big amount of tonsil stones in one day you'll be sick soon. Friday i had like 25 of them, then came down with a wicked case of sore throat... so the stones were forming cuz of the overabundunce of bacteria.

How to get rid of them- Well theres only a few ways really and only one permament fix. - you can gargle with salt water three times a day, go after them with your finger or a toothbrush, buy a water pick and hose your tonsils down, or get your tonsils removed.

The biggest Tonsil stone i've ever had was like the size of a pretty big marble. The most i've had was 25 in one day or so (just recently)

usually those come out and you swallow it with your food or whatever, with no idea that it's goin down yer throat.

some people get larger ones and greater quantity, usually wont do anythin, but if there gets to be too much u may feel like yer tonsils are swelling

it's pretty easy to push em out of yer tonsils usin a end of a flat plastic toothbrush, just dont push poke too hard else u might scratch it

It helps when you have really bad sleep aepnea and the surgeons have to cut out half of the back of your throat.
No tonsils, no uvula, and 40% of my soft pallate gone!
But if I have the sniffles and breathe through my nose, it all ends up in my mouth.

Win some and loose some I guess.

My wife gets these pretty regularly. I used to get them, but rarely do anymore. Seems like when I quit smoking that they got less and less frequent. And yes they are soft, kind of like a cottage cheese curd.

Now that I know what they are I think I've had them before in very small quantities. I've had instances where I've coughed up a small yellowish curd like this. I don't remember it having a particularly strong smell though...but my sense of smell is terrible.

I always assumed it was just food bits that were lodged in my throat. Now I know. And knowing is half the battle.

i poked one out of my throat this morning. gross. my doc said that it has nothing to do with if you're getting sick/sick/gonna get sick, the bacteria in there is harmless and just eating those chips that got stuck back there. gargling with 50/50 peroxide and water 3x a day helps shrink your tonsils so you don't get these so much
