I'm french! (well I'm english I just live in quebec so its close enough to french).. but its not pop.. its not soda.. its drink! and drink covers everything.. alcholic and non alcholic.. execept for beer, that is different. thats beer.

Im from mid-michigan and I can honestly say I have never heard anyone here call it anything other than pop. The only "soda" is grape and orange otherwise it's clearly pop.

Ive never heard someone call it pop. How can orange and grape soda be soda, while everything else is pop, its not like they are a completley differant class of drink.
And calling everything drink is just dumb, but I guess we can just tack it onto the end of the long list of dumb things the French have done

It seems you're under the impression that we, in the South, refer to assorted cabonated beverages as "pop"...

whereas avery other Texan (for example) has posted that they use "coke" or "soda"...

The first few Corona's are ok, but after that they start to suck. Not good for pong. I agree with the original bud though.

Anyhow, back to the topic at hand. "Soda" sounds entirely effeminate and limpwristed. Pop is what it should be called. Easier to say, easier to type, and not as stupid as "coke"

I vote pop, fits best considering pop is not a spacific brand name like Coke, and it is not part of the drank like soda water.
