argh ... okay its official now I hate spammers ....

Up until now I was okay with them, all I did was just configure my email server to drop anything without a special code in the subject line. Worked great as this kept anyone from email me that I didnt want to talk to anyway. Hell hotmail and yahoo are for people that I talk to only online ...

So anyway I didnt really care to much about them since I never got bothered ... until this past week.

All of a sudden I am getting to the tune of 100+ a day bounced emails that never came from my machine but contain my email address. Some damn spammer somewhere is spoofing my email addy onto his crap ... how damn annoying is that. Time to be a prick and see if I can figure out the source network from the routing headers and see what I can do about this.

Sorry about the rant ... had to vent about this crap.

That happened to my old email...except it was like 2,000 emails a day. After about a week when I opened it my computer crashed and it made a mess. I cant use that one anymore.

hate to say this, but I get about 1 spam email a week.
I also dont miss emails from people because they dont have special code.

My sever is safebrowse.com, a flitering service and web provider. Its pretty darn good at getting rid of spam.

Yahoo is decent with there bulk mail filter, but they tend to filter out e-mails from ebay, like if I ask someone a question there reply will end up in bulk mail, and it filters out PM notifications from AO, so I have to check it anyway. And recently one dork has been getting them into my inbox

Personally I prefer to have my own mail server that I can with what I want. There is nothing better then pouring over line after line of a sendmail.cf (okay maybe I am exagerating some what there.) ...

Lots of fun stuff you can do when you run your email server .

The problem I have here is that its not spam that I am getting, but what the system believe is a legit notice to me that something I sent couldnt be delivered. There are three root causes to this ..

            1) Spammer spoofing my email ...
            2) Someone I know got a freaking worm (MyDoom[A-Z]) and they have my email in their address book ...
            3) The worm exists on my system ... which I can say for 100% isnt the case.

If it continues I will just shut down the account and simply create a new one, take seconds with shell scripts ... but just means I need to update resumes, and personal contacts. That is the time consumming part.
