I've always thought it would take me ten times longer to learn how to shorten words like, "U R a dork". Are people so slow at typing that they need to learn an entirely different way of writing words? And half the words aren't even shorter, just badly spelled in an attempt to add color? Don't get me wrong, I don't beat people's heads in when they type like that...half my friends do it. I just think it's crazy.

^^depending on the system your working on there would technically be 00000010 people in a x86 world.

We have been in the 8-bit to one byte world for approx 30 years. The world is too ingrained in it to move onto a more complex system, everyone needs their old crap programs to still work and can't be persuaded to move onto bigger better things.

While Playing Quake online, a player was so excited about killing another player that he mistyped owned, and typed it with a p.

This was found to be quite humorous amoung the crowd for some reason or another and then spread like wildfire amoung the peoples of Quake and beyond..

well I picked it up from playing games online...

I am also quite dyslexic and since I can remember ive been constantly typing/writing THE as teh. So when I saw it constantly on the game forums I naturally stopped double backspacing and correcting my inept brain wireing infavor for the TEH that I have been typing all along.

Then it was a matter of time when I started getting cute with it with everyone... ie

4 for a's
3's for e's
superflious uses of capital letters for dramatic 3fXXoRZ
phonetic spelling 4 teh win
