That was... moving...
I really didnt expect everything to be left just like that. With all the villages around in that area there must be a lot of untold stories and things lost forever. It would be fun if I could somehow avoid the radiation and explore those lands, but I think I would be afraid of all the bodies I might find. The amount of equipment left there is insane, and the fact there there were people in every one of them unsettles me. Everything in those pictures show people's lives left as they were, its a weird thing to see. I never thought something like that could be possible... The wide variety of the pictures really gets you going, so many things you just wouldnt think about if you thought about a ghost town. Really sadComment

To answer rehme's question, It was a nuclear reactor that blew back in the 80s. Some guy pressed the wrong button and sent the reactor into meltdown. I don't know the number of lives lost, but its countless. The nuclear dust/cloud whatver blew over the town you see in the photos and spread nuclear gas for hundreds if not thousands of miles.
To answer yeahthatsme, the bodies were buried in mass graves and also in the town cemetery. Also burried there were some of the reactor core that wasn't encased in concrete.Comment
