Actually, commercial artists can bring in quite a bit of money, right out of college. I have a friend who's making 80k a year, less than a year out of college.Originally posted by Restola

I'm not going in for a "Starbucks Degree."Comment

I have to disagree with the Music one. I am a Music Education Major and I know that I will have a job as a Band Director when I graduate. It all depends on what type of Music degree you get. Be careful with that statement.Originally posted by Restola

Yea, it really depends on where you are and who you know with those degrees. The good thing is, so many people major in those things that there will never be a shortage of people to work at Starbucks to make Caramel Machiattos for me.Comment

If you get lucky in any of those fields, it means you didn't need any of those degreesOriginally posted by PyRo
I think those are the degrees where you get lucky, and make buttloads of money, or you get screwed and work at starbucks.

I forgot to include Philosophy.
And guys...don't take it too seriously. You'll do just fine without my approval.Comment

I've got a Masters of Fine Art. Not only was is fun getting
I've got a pretty good gig. You would be surprised how many areas of employment there are in the arts. Unlike many more "marketable" areas, art jobs can't outsourced to India.
