    Weird Computer Problem

For the past week or so I've been having a really weird problem with my computer. I keep on getting messages that say my C drive disk space is uber low...I got it for the first time maybe 5 days ago, cleaned up my comp and everything was fine, but then on Thursday the messages started showing up again...I deleted some more files. It started again last night, and it seems the space just drops by itself ie; one minute it will be fine, then it will drop do 150 mb (keep in mind I didnt download anything in that time), then 2 minutes later it will be at 60 mb, etc. Anyone know what could be wrong?

Your using windows..... It does that after a while. Just browsing the web can cause your free hard drive space to diminish. I wonce emptied the temp internet files from some computer, it was over 600 megs...

so should I empty the temp internet files? Wont that mess with my cookies or something?

excuse my lack of knowledge of computer terms, I really don't know that much about them other than that I can use them to browse the web and type papers...

It won't mess up anything. The most that will happen is that you'll have to sign into accounts (ie, username and passwork like here at AO)

Another useful thing might be if you set your internet cache to use a maximum of 10 megabytes. Less if you have broadband. Otherwise it will just eat up resources. I have mine set to 1 meg max.

Fixion that sounds like a good idea, but, like I said I'm a big computer nub. How would I go about doing this?

In IE to set the temp internet files go to
                    Tools: Internet Options
Click on the Settings button under Temp Internet Files. that is where you can set your limit.
i dont like signatures. so i turned them off. AO is much better this way.

What is SLSK? You shouldn't have lost any files you downloaded. I deleted my temp internet files all the time and never have lost anything.

I just don't understand how you lost it. I have a p2p program and I just deleted my internet files and nothing was lost. This baffles me
