DirecTV w/ TIVO rocks my socks

    So,
My ghetto complex (actually VERY nice apartments, they just dont use the normal cable provider out here) basically made me inquire into DirecTV again. Had it installed yesterday and the main room has TIVO on it.

Let me say that TIVO rocks my socks. Not just for the recording shows feature, but for the PAUSE feature. Like 4 times yesterday I was watching TV or movies (my day off, so i lounged around for once) and you can just hit the pause button on your remote and your TIVO will automatically keep recording for 30 mins in a "temp" setup, so you can just come back and hit play and it goes where it left off, then when you change channels it removes that.

Plus cause I have a 3 reciever satellite input (2 going into my living room TIVO box, one into my bedroom computer actually) i can record 2 shows at once. So when I get a good movie going and another ones on i dont lose out. Like tonight... ALIENS is on one channel, but THE USUAL SUSPECTS on another.. NO FEAR TIVO IS HERE!

TiVo is the best thing to happen to television since cable. I've got 40hr model with basic cable, but thats enough to keep me occupied. With DirecTV you can actually record 2 shows at the same time and watch a 3rd all ready recorded show. Its a shame that they weren't allowed to put in the auto-commercial skip feature because of the pressure from networks and such.

Yeah, but I still have FAST FORWARD so I'm okay.

I love the dual record. I was watching some episodes of South Park I setup on "season pass" and it was recording 2 movies for me at the same time.

DirecTIVO, NHL Center Ice, and PLayoff season...

                  oh god, it's wonderful.

Conflicting games? I can record two at once...

I can't wait until they start offering HD versions. That would just make my whole life.

                    HDNet Rocks!

                    Go to http://www.avsforum.com

They talk a lot about HD Recorders and when they will come out, etc.

Very smart people. Very scary too. All of 'em have Home Theaters(I'm talking like 120" screens here)and know just way too much stuff for their own good. But they are all very helpful.

                        OMG! Look, Look, Look!

                        HD DirecTivo!!!

                        Sweetness....

Note, I believe it retails at about $999. Well worth it, what with a standard HD receiver at about $500-$600
