    Thrown back out.....again....

Damnit! My back's out again. I threw it out two summers ago right before Shatnerball 1.

This time I thought I felt it coming on, and was taking steps to try and head it off. I was taking some soma before bed to help me sleep and I was stretching, changing my diet. Well I couldn't sleep through the night last night, I'm in near constant pain, again.

I don't have time for this!!! I have school work and real work to do. ARG!!!!

I'm going to the chriopractor today, hopefully I'm not as far gone as I think. I'm realy praying that I won't have to have some vertebre fused.

were you ever prescibed an excercise regimine for it, or lose weight (if you are overweight). i heard that usually helps for people in your situation.

Yes, both and I did well for a while. I won't deny that I'm overweight, but right now it's hard to do anything. It's also hard for me to eat right because I don't have time to cook for myself. Eh, hopefully I caught it early enough this time.

The problem might actually be due to a CNS issue (Central Nervous System). Ask your chiropractor about your transversus abdominis muscles. There are recent studies showing chronic lower back pain sufferers have a problem with the transversus abdominis firing too late when someone raises or lowers thier arm. In order for the body to stabilize itself, when someone raises thier arms these muscles must maintain stability of the body. Faulty recruitment patterns can causes undue stress over time. Take this problem and multiply by how many times you raise/lower your arm in a day and one can see it's no surprise that there is chronic LBP. If he's any good he will check for this. Good luck.

Bad backs run in my family, I've always had to be careful. I've thrown it out once, and oh man it sucked. Some days it gets a little touchy on me.

Almost every single person my moms side of the family has back problems. Damn genes...

Well day two: After 12 hours of sleep on the floor I think I'm doing better. Not fixed yet but better. With any luck I'll be better by the end of the easter holiday.
