Is Keasby Nights by Catch 22 not the best song ever? I have listened to it like 100 times.

ska is music. it is like a cross between reggae, and rock infused with horns (the insturment, get your mind out of the gutter) so, imagine rock, with horns, and a seaside breeze flowing through it.

Tony3 the original Catch broke up. A few of the members left and started Streetlight Manifesto/Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution. There is still a Catch 22 though, not as good as the original but they still put on one hell of a show!

Finally! And I thought I was alone...

                      I'm a big ska fan.

I used to play drums in a ska band called The Moneyshots. We were local to Buffalo, but opened up for some big name bands like Voodoo Glow Skulls, River City Rebels (more like punk with horns) and the Toasters. Now my bass player from that band and I play in a rock band called The Clockers

                      Biggest ska memories:

                      Drinking beer with Catch 22
Skanking to Rancid's Time Bomb back in 1997
Having 150+ people skanking / circle pitting at my band's show
Skanking on stage with The Toasters
Running from security at a VGS show (that's a whole other story)

I'm sure there are lots more, I just can't remember them at the moment...

Well guys, I am uppin this thread... And it deservers it you know?...

                          Couldve lost my life...
                          and wouldve lost my mind
                          But now, and im fine
but this has been the best day of my life
and as the day fades no one investigates
nobody answers when she calls his name
another victim somewhere in a shallow grave
i wanna hold her and tell her... its not ur fault
-Streetlight Manifesto, We Are The Few

I've got a gun in my hand but the gun wont cock
My fingers on the trigger, but the trigger seems locked
and I cant stop starin at the tick-tock clock,
and even if i could I would never give up.
With A Vest on my chest a bullet in my lung
I cant believe i'm dieing with my song un-sung...
And if and when I die wont you bury me alone
Cuz i'll never get to heaven if i'm singing this song.
                          -Streetlight Manifesto, Point / Counterpoint

It was the summer of 95 (so what)
In the backyard shavin the old piles (so what)
Something went wrong (wrong) Straight into my finger what a stinger it was so long.
And can remember that day like the day when i swear
                          I'd never hurt myself again
But it seems that im deemed to be wrong, to be wrong
                          Just gotta keep holdin on...

When they come for me, I'll be sitting at my desk
With a gun in my hand wearing a bullet proof vest
singing my my my how the time must fly
when you know your gunna die by the end of the night
                          -Catch22, Keasbey Nights

We rode across that bridge all night
We talked our way through city lights
Traced all the lines we're killing time
                          Under those buzzing signs
From downtown to anywhere but here
Tonight yeah I swear to these rooftops
And just hoped that car would never stop

And I swear it's the last time and I swear it's my last try
and we'll walk in circles around this whole block
walk on the cracks on the same old sidewalks
and we'll talk about leaving town
                          yeah we'll talk about leaving
I swear it's the last time I swear it's my last try
