    Dirk Bikes

I really am interested in dirt bikes, but I really dont know ANYTHING about it. Please, can someone explain ANYTHING about dirt bikes to me, that would be appreciated.

Assume this, because its pretty accurate. I am new to paintball and I know NOTHING. Nothing about guns, how they perform, what to do, what to buy, what stuff does, what stuff means, if there are fields to play at or just your backyard, the difference between tourney play and woodsball, all that stuff. I know nothing. Put me in the place of this person, except for dirt bikes, I know nothing, what can you tell me ?

    Thanks a lot

Just do a google search, there's plenty of places where you can learn some stuff. Are you interested in buying a bike? Do you know of any tracks around you? Do you want to race on tracks or do more trail riding stuff? How tall are you and what is your weight?

There's not really much to know. It's good to know how engines work. And you're gonna need to know how to use a clutch(its not to hard to figure out). Other than that, it just comes to you.

I don't know how big you are, but most people start out with a 125(or an 80 for kids, or even a 50 for really small kids). Try riding diffeent size ones and find one you're comfortable with.

2-Strokes = Fast, Loud, Smokey, and generally require more maintnance. And they have Power Bands(a range of RPM's where it runs the fastest). Good for racing and fumping and whatnot.

4-Strokes = Not as fast, not as loud, don't smoke, less maintnance, No power band. But they are better for trail riding or enduro, etc. They're more fun to mess around on IMO since you don't have to keep it wound up like a 2-stroke. but you just can't beat the sound or smell of a 2-stroke...

      Hope some of that helps

In your profile it says you are 16, so assuming that you aren't a midget I'd suggest you a 125cc. I'm a big fan of Yamaha's or Suzuki's. I really like Yamaha TT 125cc's. They have electric starts which can be problematic but are really convient.

I've got a 2002(I think) TT-R 125 and I'm 15(16 in May, about 5'10" 220lbs) and it's cool for just screwing around or trial riding. It does ok with small jumps, but I love my KX 125 sooooo much more.

I got my TTR before they started putting electric start on em. Eletric start is for wussies, lol. If you're not dedicated enough to kick your gut out trying to get the damn thing started, you shouldn't have a bike And if you take the baffle out of them it shounds pretty sick. and they generally need to be rejetted as soon as you get it. The factory jets are a tad small and make it hard to start sometimes.
