Ever had a friend that got everything that he wants without paying for it or doing any work himself? Yeah, well I'm about to die because he's so spoiled (Just normal male jealousy, I know) Also, all of his hobbies and sports are the same as mine.
So it all starts 2 years ago, he gets a new drumset. An 8 piece, which is pretty expensive. Then he gets 5 new cymbals. This adds up to around 2500 dollars. Then, he gets a new RT Pro and the whole paintball shibang (all the gear, he played with me once with a talon). Around comes soccer season, and he gets a pair of softground manias ($200), a pair of hardground manias ($200), and the whole adidas warm up kit. I think, surely, his parents are about done. But no. He gets an american made fender strat (I have a mexican made one) AND a big *** Marshall amp. He has never played guitar before, either. He doesn't touch his strat until 2 weeks ago. So, let's move on. Christmas rolls around (this is 2003), and he gets one of those Dell XPS computer things. Also, he gets a new bike, another Marshall, and a 40 inch widescreen FOR HIS ROOM. Along with the widescreen comes a 7.1 surround sound system, a new DVD player, and an Xbox. Lets jump forward 15 days, when he recieves an OCDP snare, 30 ply, vented. Another 15 days rolls around, and he gets a new Pearl double pedal eliminator. And today, his birthday, he gets 300 dollars. You would think that might be it, right? Nope. He gets a limited edition, quilt top, yellow Les Paul. Jesus Christ. The guitar that I wanted soo bad, and he goes out and buys it. I talked about it for like, 4 months. I can't stand it anymore.
If you have lots of money, I think you should spend it. But not like this. When his parents take the credit card away from him (yes, credit card at 14), he's going to die. Of course, I doubt that they will take it away. He never works for anything. He's a nice guy and all, but he bought my guitar...At least he's my drummer for our band, and I can use his Marshalls. He's ok at drums, but I'm better at both drumming and guitar...It's pathetic. When I do yardwork for my mom, I don't get a payment like she promised, but "The satisfaction of a good looking yard". Sorry, I just need to vent somewhere....
