The naturally mummified skin is a Spiny Tailed Lizard that we found on a range in Kuwait. They grow to about 2 feet long, with over half of it an evil multi-spiked tail. The critter is a genuine dinosaur. This range is huge, and we had to "cowboy up" the camel herds before we could use it. The Bedouins charge a hefty sum to the US when we kill one of their camels...up to $12,000 for a white one. All the camel pics are from our daily "rodeo". This was also a battle site from the Gulf War, as the whole area is strewn with blasted apart armor and trucks, and littered with US 25mm and 30mm casings. I dug up a pair of Oakleys that were still in great shape, out of an old tank hide...but someone "borrowed" them a couple days later.

All the pics that you can see mountains in, are from the NTC at Ft Irwin, Ca. In some you can see a dust storm, bright sun, and rain...all in less than 3 hours (notice how the HUMWV's don't move in all of them). All the pics that have absolutely no vegitation anywhere, is Kuwait. Including the multi-sunsets over the porta-johns! The one plane shot is crossing the Iraq border on the way to Kuwait. The shot of the girl, and the messy barracks corner, is at Ft Lewis, Wa.

                  Thanks sweetie!
                  Thanks Jason!

Approximately How many pounds of gear are you guys wearing? I mean, there's so much I would really hope a bullet from smallarms fire WOULD NOT penatrate. Good Luck. My cousin just finished his tour over there but he's probably going to get sent back over.

HUH? I hope you really meant WOULD NOT penetrate

My vest with 210 rounds of ammo, plus weapon, plus Camel-Bak, plus helmet, comes in at a near even 44lbs

....and yes, with the front/back trauma plates in the vest, I am safe from direct torso hits from any combat rifle

Woah Woah Woah..Sorry, I did for get the NOT after the would. I changed it for ya. Guess I'll turn down the music next time. At least you're somewhat safe in an unsafe environment. Camel-Baks save lives

Note to self: stay away from .50 cal fire.

Hey Dave!! I'm so glad to hear you are doing well! Doobie and I think of you often. You will be home before you know it! Thanks for keeping us all posted!

Hello Sarah! Just wanted to say good luck with the knee! It's only bad if you don't do your therapy...mine's been awesome since my ACL repair in Mar 03, now if only I could trade the other in...hahah! To keep exercising is the key--I have to go running regularly or it gets really stiff on me. Tell your mom I said hello and for both of you to hang in there!

I had complete reconstructive surgery on my shin and the joint. Running is completely out of the question for damn near the rest of my life. Which means yeah, so's paintball. ah, well. I can play back, right? right? Though, thanks to the therapy, I have perfect balance on my left leg, and my usual level (read: none) on my right.

I was recently let out of my brace (friday of last week) And it's so incredibly foreign to be walking without a groin-to-ankle reinforcement, i still walk very slowly and carefully. 9 months in a brace... Oct 31 03 was my orginal injury date.

                                -------

mom booked the tickets for pburgh, muz is gonna pick me up, and tato's volunteered to keep an eye on me and make sure I don't party too hard. My first three days of rooming are ambiguous at this time, but fri-sun i have a room with WonderPug, barring any horrific accidents or last minute weddings.

Maggie just horked up a hairball on my bed, gotta go deal with that.
                                Such a sham(e).
