Don't worry Sarah...the good thing about it is there's always new things you can find to enjoy that you ARE able to do. And the good thing is that doctors aren't always right. With the right amount of determination, you can do anything . Good luck girl and keep the physical therapy going, make your therapist work you hard, and try not to get frustrated.

      WOOHOOO!

Took a close one today! 127mm rocket (BIG dang thing) slammed in less than 50m from my post. Lots of dust and rocks flying, but nobody got even the slightest nick.....gawdamn loud son-uv-a-gun though.

Thank God we have built up the Hesco barriers in the lanes, and added over three dozen concrete Jersey barriers to the defensives. They took the whole blast, and directed the energy way from everyone.

Wow! That'll wake you up in the morning

What are Hesco and Jersey barriers? [I've got an idea what Joisey barriers may be... I live in NJ..]

Happy Fourth out there too, fellas!

Man you gotta love those Hesco Baskets. The first thing I was bugging our engineers about getting around my platoon's compound was those Hesco baskets.

Gald to hear they worked for you. I hope no one else tests them out for you again .

            BTW... Happy 4th!

Toof, Hesco's are a square heavy wire basket with fibre or heavy paper liners. In all sizes, they are set out in whatever pattern you want, then filled with dirt or sand. This results in barriers from 2' to 5' thick. Stacked up or put side by side, they make a formidable wall of safety, and they can be put up 100X faster than sandbags.

Jersey barriers are just like the concrete road barriers on highways and construction sites, but these are 5' to10' tall. Excellent for stopping flying bad guy debris.

Ah, thanks Army. Figured that's what Jersey barriers were.

Hey you southern boys, can you beat 132F at 95% humidity? That's what it was today!

Good Lord, my uniform is almost solid with salt sweat. I had to throw away my socks because they had begun to rot by 1800! I've got my boots soaking in clean water to leach out the salt and gunk.

                  Eeeeeeeeewwwwwww!

However, we got to watch a 2000 pounder get dropped less than 2K away......awesome to say the least. The .50 towers shook like they were gonna come down, and three windows cracked in the CP...

(in my best Tom Cruise voice)It was beautiful man, just beautiful!

Nah, not 132. That'd be bad. We pulled 104 at 95% a few days back though.

Army, put in an official request to MOAB... um, whever you choose. Buwhaha.

Brings back memories of 2 weeks of double sessions for football in 100f with about 400% humidity. All field sessions, full gear, cuz our coaches are morons. 3 guys ended up in the hospital with heat exhaustion, the rest of us lost 15 pounds because water breaks were few and far between.

AND WE SUCKED THAT YEAR. Almost worth it.

                        Egads!!

I can't beat that, but it does bring back memories of 10 plus days of 110F at about 50% in the middle of 30 plus days of 100F plus weather whilst I was working outside in a garage a few years back.

A friend of mine is being called back into the service in 3 weeks to be trained and go to Iraq. 18month reactivation. He was discharged over a year ago, now he is going back.

ARMY, He may be registering here and sending you a PM about what to expect. He says he is going to Bagdad. I don't know for sure.

You may come here though, as we have a rather large Marine contingent. Fallujah is small potatoes now-a-days, and will likely be quiet in a few more months, so the Corps is spreading out alot.

Sinistar, yeah, as soon as he signs up, I'll feed him the dope from around here. No problem bud!
