You'll be glad to know Sarah played today and did very well at Brad's...took out one of the tourney wannabe heads first game.

They stacked against her in later games though..resulting in these..

It was a pretty fun day with a small group of people, though sunburny--though I uess you're not the person to tell THAT too!

                Hello Toof!
I've changed my shift hours, I'm now on 0600-1200, so my internet times are all goofed up too!

Doing OK still. Had a close one yesterday, 60mm hit less than 50m from the truck my squad was in. Lots of pinging off the armor plate, but no hits on my people. I was more pissed at the hajji truck in front of me that stopped when the bang went off, I damn near pushed him down the road with me! dumbbunny's

We're in the trailers finally! God must love AC, for he gave us so many of them! It's so nice to finally be able to actually sleep in a dry bed, instead of waking up in a puddle of sweat. The latrines are still too far away, but since they are attached to the shower point which is only half as far as it used to be, we don't care all that much.

Had 18 mortars and 3 big 127mm rockets come in 3 days ago. No-one hit, and only slight damage to the perimeter road, but we we're all day in and out of the friggen bunkers. We stepped up Apache patrols over the local villes, and have once again received permission to return fire with the 120's......'bout time too.

All in all, we're doing really good here.

                Later doods!

I got a new set of negatives from my dad yesterday, so as soon as I can make it to the Rite-Aid down the street, we'll have some new pictures of the north gate where he's stationed. Nt much is shown due to security issues, unforunately.
                      Such a sham(e).

I'll edit/narrate when they get up. Thanks sweetie!

Thanks for serving us sir. I wish I was of age and over there right now...

Just curious, is there something specific that I could send out to you and the troops? Types of candy, foods, really anything as long as a 17yo can obtain it

I'd be more than happy to spend a little money and time to give you guys something.

Once again, I really appreciate your sacrifice. You are all doing a great job, I'm proud of you. Stay safe!

Another big HOOAH for the world famous Amy Low!

                              Thank you sweetheart.

The cookies, of course, didn't last 5 minutes near the gaping maw of the platoon, though I did rescue the Macadamia ones for myself and my roomie. The two Koontz books are perfect, and will give me at least 3 days of reading enjoyment...there really isn't anything to do on our time off other than exercise and dodge the incoming! LOL

A totally wonderful surprise. I am indebted to you and your generosity.

                              Dave

My brother was in the same type of thing in Kuwaitt before the invasion of Iraq (now he's in Afghanistan). Says he only saw the thermometer dip below a hundred once and that was at 1 am and even then it was 98 and the same humidity. Says the tarmac (sp?) was the worst (he fixes the electronics in Apaches and Blackhawks). Something like 150+ out on the concrete. Anyways. Good luck Army and look forward to your return.
