That's it. That's all. It's over with........I'm at home with my lovely newly skinny wife, and my beautiful little girl.
Of course, the flight arrangements were exactly opposite of what we were told. We wound up going back to Ft Lewis anyway to de-mobilize, for 4 days. Then we were told that flights to our home-of-record would not be available, leaving some of us with 12 hour bus rides.......not a good thing.
My brigade from back home jumped into the good fight, and told the Washington Guard where exactly to stick it, and got us flights home after all.....with only a quick side trip to Phoenix. Sorry Ed, we weren't on the ground long enough to come visit!
Alls well that ends with a 3 point landing.
Thanks to everyone for putting up with this journal for a year on AO, and thanks to Tom for allowing it to continue.
America is doing tremendous good in the middle east, never let anyone tell you otherwise. Terrorism will no longer threaten our peace or existence in this world.
