        What?!?!

You SHOULD know what's going on, become an informed citizen. Do some research from many sources (Pretty much every source is biased to an extent when it comes to politics, a wide range of them helps you rule out some of the bias). It'll take no time to find which side of the political compass you sit on after a little reading.

by the way that was just my opinion.

I was outta the house at 16, always had something else to worry about than politics myself. Just my lifestyle I guess? Do what ya like I just put in my 2 cents.

I do know whats goin on, but I don't spend all my time hating liberals and whatnot.

You should be able to figure where you stand by yourself and how you feel about the issues going on.

            heres my opinion

first, i dont really "fit" with a political group either. I prefer Bush over Kerry, but there are certainly things about which I disagree with that Bush has done.

Second, Ann Coulter is NOT mainstream 'conservative.' She is off the deep end. I heard her talk, and while I agreed with much of what she had to say, it was all to a much lesser degree.

finally, conservative means a couple things in general, however it is changing with time, more away from what I believe.
            1) low taxes. economic spending drives finances for everyone, so tax everyone at a low rate and have the gvt provide little socialist support (such as less medicare, social security, medicaid, welfare etc)

            2) small federal gvt. going along with #1, the gvt should be as unintrusive as possible. it should not be controling our lives.

            3) strong national defense / intl presense. We don't care, much, about what intl institutions say, such as the UN, and are willing to do what we feel is necessary and will vigorously try to maintain the strongest, best equipped military in the world

thats a conservative, circa 1990, to which i feel i am. conservatives now are quite different, however.

            this might help: http://www.politicalcompass.org/
although it didnt do a very good job on me :/

Vote on the ISSUES, don't be a blind party voter. Be sure to read up on the policies of the candidates, and vote with what you agree with.

I'm screwed either way, Bush makes me sick and I don't feel any better about Kerry.
