The new way, that I did for a while is, a hair straightener and a blowdryer. You just keep doing it till its up, then you put some glue in, wood glue holds it for about a week or so. But since you have a pretty short one, you can probably just use some elmers glue, it worked for me for a while. The striaghtener and blowdryer will get a very clean hawk though, that is why that is a good way. If your not looking for a totaly clean hawk, or dont really care, you probably can just use a small amount of elmers glue, depending on the length of your hair.
They also have this stuff called Hair Glue, or something like that, it holds just as well as glue, maybe better, but you can wash it out easlily.
Just try different things, maybe talk to a friends if one has a hawk. Or just go old school Pantera style and just let the hawk go, and have it hang loose. I did that when i didnt have any glue, or time to get it up. -

I use 'Rocket Gel' when I want to spike. Use enough to fill a pop bottle cap about 3 times. It's the strongest stuff I know. If you let it sit about 3 hours, do NOT try to move your hair more than liek 45 degrees to the side, WASH IT OUT. It gets so hard you WILL break your hair off. Plus it smells really good.'people should not be allowed to own paintguns which are smarter than they are'

Oh god...My Mom got me some of that stuff for Easter. It's deep dark blue. I've yet to try it out. I have no idea what it's going to do.Originally posted by who_311They also have this stuff called Hair Glue, or something like that, it holds just as well as glue, maybe better, but you can wash it out easlily.Comment

Ice Hair Spiking glue, it's like glue. it's what that guy from rancid uses and if it holds that, it will hold your puny 3 inch mowhawk! My other marker is an autococker.....Comment

You can use your fancy gels and whatnot, but trust me, glue can never fail. I used glue for a long time, with no failures, and it lasted through many shows, and those gels are just soo...fruity for me. I just felt wierd putting stuff in my hair that smelled fruity, maybe just me. Elmers will work wonders for your hawk, and its pretty easy to get out. But if you want your fancy pants gels, go ahead.
Just remember, you want to use the least amount of whatever you can. If you use too much, it can be too heavy and fall, and if you use just the right amount, it will hold much longer than it would with too much.
Just some words of advice.
