noone knows why.. he had everything going for him.. he could have went to any college he wanted... it was so random... it stumped us all...

Sounds like one of those cases where the kid had too much going for him (in other words, he did too much and it became overwhelming).

Sorry to hear that. A kid at our school shot himself on Wednesday afternoon; his mom and his friend found him shortly after. He was a nice kid, friendly, we were friends in grammar school. He sat next to me in 2nd period. I'm not sure if he was eligible to graduate this year, but still, things can always turn up. The memorial service was this afternoon, a lot of people came. I was amazed at how well the school treated it, both students and staff were quiet, allowing his closer friends to mourn, and there was a feeling of respect and grief throughout the building. It's so sad to think someone truly believes that they have no options left in life but to do that.

Sig, when I was in HS, we had several suicides, I think 11 in 4 years. Most were kids that, quite frankly, nothing was wrong. Hell, two of them had the world at their fingertips. sometimes, there is no "why". I recently lost yet another friend down here in Cuba. It does truly suck. I feel for you...dont dig too deep, sometimes there isnt an answer.

Noone in my school ever killed themselves or died for that matter. Noone this year in college either that I know of. I'm lucky I guess.

when i was in middle school

a kid killed himself at school, before being counted for attendence, no one knew he was there

they found him the next day somewhere at school..

the kids name was jerry mickels i believe, he did it with a knife

in the suicide note, my name was in there...i was said to be my fault cause i made our football team, and took his chance of gettin on out...

the guilt will always travel with me...

suicide is just so, it can because of going the mental hell, or it can be because your not living the way you want to be (like you dont want to be popular)

suicide can be for no, or for a reason so...

just relax, and be happy your still alive

Depression is a serious disease. It can be fatal. And its often hard to tell that one has it. Its hard to know yourself that you have it. You think everyone thinks the same way you do. So you think your normal. We only have our own personal thoughts to guage what is normal and what is not. One in 7 people suffers from some form of depression. I not talking about feeling sad here... I am talking about the chemical imbalance in the brain. Often strikes the brightest of us. More often than not the thing most people say after is "why? he/she had everything going for them?" Thats a fairly typical observation.

Trust me it had nothing to do with you. Suicidal people often look for reasons to explain their actions. Often using rather exagerated accounts of fairly small issues to reason it out to do it. None of them really make any sense. Its all illogical. You had nothing to do with it really. So forget it.

There realy was nothing you did nor could probably have done. Often they will always list reasons to die vs reasons not to. And always they try and find enough of them to far outweigh the ones to live. Often taking small snips of life and putting a negative spin on it. And no one else knows they are doing it. But its not the reason they do it. Its the painfull outlook they have while thier brains are all messed up. They don't realize they are doing it. They think everyone thinks that way. So they are logical in thier illogic so they think. No one causes it. You certainly didn't.
