    Hiphop/Rap

First off.. I will start by saying this..

If you don't like rap or hiphop, just leave the thread.. I don't want this to turn into a bash rap thread like it would on pbn.. ok??

    So with that aside...

    Who here listens to hiphop?

Who are your favorite artists, and are you into underground stuff?

Personally.. I only like some mainstreme songs, mose I hate.. I like some D12, Some Eminem.. Some Jay-Z, Some G-Unit, Some Nas, Kanya West (or however you spell it),.. And best of all Ludicrus .. But I am not a big mainstream guy and rarly listen to any of this stuff anywayes so onto the good stuff..

Who listens to underground/netcees?? And who wants to ..

And who wants to hear some actual hiphop songs.. None of this clubby crap??

It's the song called Footprints.. It's the only one I really have access to right now.. If you guys like I will find some more good songs

lol naa I don't like the songs played on the radio.. I like the songs with storys, and some of them are good at that.. But they never play those ones.

Found another song I like.. It's just a sample though.. He had the full song on there before.. Musta took it down though..

It's called NOVA Sample (click on the green thing to listen if you have cable).

I've been diggin NERD's new album, I wouldn't neccesarily call it true hip hop but it still is hip hop.

Iunno... I listen to a whole variety artists with no real pattern.

Edit: may as well as this right now... Anyone have any good reccomendations for good hiphop dance music? Don't reccomend anything missy because that's all my school's crew does and frankly, i'm sick of it.

Foo Temps do you mean like oldschool breakbeats so the breakers can rock the floor, or some kinda stuff for people to c walk to, or just stuff to get people movin...there's a lot of hip hop genre...but to be honest if you want to rock the true hip crowd then you'll be playin music for bboys...but there'e really never a party where everyone's a bboy...except for a battle or hip hop event...if it's just a dance then you'll want some club hip hop so at least everyone will dance to it...cuz a lot of good hip hop makes you wanna drop a rhyme, nod your head, or just chill to...not make you dance necessarily...sad but true...so to answer the question...i'm not sure exactly what you kids are listening to these days...a lot of dj's give in to the top 40 music stuff because everyone is a critic and you're spinning for them...and most of the time they like what they hear on mtv.

Blackalicious is off the hook. Can't go wrong with J5, Dialated Peoples, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and Prince Paul always brings it proper. Ghost Faced Killa, Inspecta Deck, Raekwaon, Wu-Tang always good choices as well.

And you can't hate on the Beastie Boys, everyone forgets how good their old school albums are. Man, Paul's Botique still rocks my world.

i listen to a lot of mainstream too, but for a week at a time. listening to the radio ruins it for me, way way way overplayed songs. i do like eminem-d12-dr dre-50-busta rhymes which is aftermath and shady records. i can take jayz a little at a time also. i like mobb deep, and dmx for their "grimy" style, helps me draw and work at school. i can take the hip pop world (dance style) every once in a while also. the crunk style is funny to listen to but that is about it. but anything with a good beat or hard lyrics can make me happy because it just helps me work.

i know people want to tear this thread apart
