I was pulled over once for stopping in the middle of the road to ask my friends next to me for directions... Little did i know there was a cop behind me. Nothing hapned, exept it took me 5 mins to find my license...

My friend has 3 speeding tickets and a racing ticket, hes gonna get his licence suspened til he is like 21.!

I've always been pretty lucky about not getting tickets and getting issued warnings instead. I actually got stopped going 48 in a 35 in a construction zone. But the cop gave me a warning.

Of course when I shoot my mouth off about this kinda stuff it always comes back to bite me in the *** a few days ater. Better start saving for my future ticket....

Hmm, stopping in the middle of the road. Me and my friends slowed down to 20mph on a major highway by me during rush hour, next to each other slowing everyone down. Then we stopped when we noticed there was an unmarked police car behind us (you could see the lights). He didn't do anything about us slowing down though, which I think is strange, but I won't complain :)

I don't understand why you guys have to go to court to pay a speeding ticket or a seatbelt violation?!.

In MA the ticket itself is an envelope. You put in your check and drop it in the mail box. It's even got postage already on it.

I guess you have to appear for "driving to endanger" but that's like at least 40+ mph over the speed limit and you'd probably get arested anyway.

Got a $130 ticket for going 33 in a 20... damn school zones with fines doubled. Then a $40 photo-radar ticket, but that doesnt count (no points). I've also been pulled over two other times but just got warnings. One of them was because it was labor day weekend, and I was distracted by my CD player so I kinda had to swerve back into my own lane. the Officer was cool though...

i believe you go to court in order to contest the ticket or lower the fine

You don't have to go to court, you can just write them a check and be done with that, but if I did I would have gotten 6pts, and probably closer to a $400 fine. But I plead innocent, so to keep it from going to court they offered to let me plead guilty to a lower charge, failure to obay a traffic device which is 2pts, and a $125 fine. That saves them having to waste the time of the court, and the officer who gave me the ticket.

Get an FOP Card!!! They work. Got me out of a 65 in a 25, no seatbelt, talking on a cell-phone in Audubon, NJ! Cop lectured me then threatened to call my buddy (who issued me the card), finally just turned me loose!

Fraternal Order of Police. Basically if you have a brother/friend/good pal that's a cop see if he can hook you up with one. Basically they're Road Monopoly get out of jail free cards.
