Mustangs aren't muscle cars...they're pony cars.

I heard the term pony cars came around in the 80's to describe the new mustangs and camaro's because they were no longer big enough to be muscle cars, and wern't sports cars because of the back seat.

Or have I been misinformed, this wasn't the most reliable source.
