Segments/fight scenes in the movie are excellent, but I agree that the plot is somewhat far fetched/stupid.

        Oh yeah... and Kate Beckinsale.

So should I see it, or just watch my copy of Underworld over and over?

Honestly, it wasn't worth the 8.50 I payed, but not many movies are worth 8.50 in my book.

I only paid $6 for my ticket...

Going in I was expecting the worst... and was pleasantly suprised that it didn't totally suck.

Story wasn't horrible, a little busy, but not horrible.

Kate... yes... it does have a whole lot of Kate...

CGI was very well done, ILM appears to be learning how to not suck (ala star wars ep 1 and 2) now that Weta is a monster rising from the other side of the planet.

Cheesy ending... you know you saw it coming... (or the opposite possibility).

Towards the ehd... it did remind me a lot about Underworld...

One thing though, those hot vampire chicks must've had a TON of tape going on... gravity is your enemy when hanging upside down wearing very loose robes...

We saw it last night. I thought it was gonna be more drama/horror, but it had a comedy aspect and I wasn't expecting. Even though it wasn't what I was expecting, it was good. But, compared to other movies I've seen in the theater, I would've passed on it and waited for it to come out on video.

Steven Sommers also wrote the Mummy, Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King. Was it the same tongue-in-cheek humor as those movies?

Yeah I would say it was. The character lines were too goofy to be taken seriously, but done with serious expressions....if that makes sense. There was definately a similarity with the movies you mentioned.

I was let down by the movie because I went in expecting something GREAT, and I walked out with something that went... meh...
Gotta say, the casting WAS great though. Someone needs to hit the writers in the head with the imagination stick again.
