    Van Helsing Plot *spoiler thread*

I saw the movie. I wasn't reallly expecting much except for cool action and nice effects, it had both.

Yes I know the plot was pretty dumb and had loopholes, but I wasn't paying all too much attention and I kinda want to know what the directers WANTED you to know at the end

    *SPOILERS*

I coulda sworn Dracula told Van Helsing that Van had murdered him, and then he went to the Devil for his life back or something....And I thought I heard something about how Helsing was at "the right hand of God" (LOL..that is where Jesus is seated though..)

Anyway I may have messed all that "plot info" up...Anyone who saw it care to explain all of that stuff to me?

I do understand how Dracula used Frankensteins creater to make a strong enough being to be able to use the energy..however that doesn't make sense to me...Anyone care to explain all the elements and HISTORY between Helsing and Dracula?

    Thanks, I appreciate it.

The movie had a very week plot, but pretty good action...
Dracula is a Vampire. Vampires are dead. When Drac died, he went to hell. Satan turned him into a vampire. That's the way I see it, at least.
Dracula called Van the LEFT hand of God, which is the Holy Spirit, implying he does God's will.
Van Helsing has always been the guy that kills Drac in movies, waaay back from the black and white movies. I think that Frankenstien was only like a transmitor for the energy, he couldn't acually controll it...
    Now for the REAL question...
Did anyone get a good look at the back of his crossbow???
I could have sworn that was the back of a 68 valve! I don't know if I am going crazy, but I saw it and turned to my friend and said "DUDE!!! that's a paintball gun!!!"
Which would make sense, if they used green paintballs, they could use them like a green screen and easily put the flying arrows in. That is probably just wishful thinking on my part, though

Urm, left hand of God. Van Helsing is Gabriel.

Dracula could not create life with humans or werewolves. Frankenstein monster was key to creating life, something in him made the machine work. Dracula was kind of stupid for killing Dr. Frankenstein, I thought.

It's unclear what happened between Gabriel and Dracula 400 years earlier, besides that there were wars that Gabriel was involved in and probably was on opposing side to Dracula at one point.

What I didn't get is how Dracula is "hollow" and has no feelings supposedly, yet he displays a lot of emotion! I coulda swore that the party scene, where the chick was singing - sounded like a rip off from 5th element with how she was singing. It was kinda cool how, if you noticed, people from multiple religions were part of the group that fought against evil.

The Dracula/Werewolf battle was cool. But I thought the ending was lame. There were some funny bits, like the fryer getting it on. Or when he goes "This can't be good." Hehe. The portal/door was totally lame. They had too many battles with the female vamps, was getting redundant. The auto-crossbow was awesome! It had a warp feed on it!

So that means Van Helsing is immortal, correct?

He had been alive for over 400 years, when he first murdered dracula?

I think the right hand/left hand thing might be referring to something else. The Bible talks about separating the sheep from the goats, the sheep on his right and the goats on his left, i.e. the saved on His right going to Heaven, and the lost on his left going to Hell. I thought that was what he was talking about when he said "How does it feel to be on the left hand of God?" He said it like it was a bad thing (which obviously Hell is)

Interesting idea Bert, Dracula said that at the end right before the final battle didn't he? If that's the case, I think you might be right...

No, he was saying it as though being the left hand was an unwanted or daunting obligation. I'm not too sharp on Biblical stuff, but being the left hand is like being a tool of God.

Personally I liked the female vampire parts. They were pretty added humor to the fight scenes as well as sex appeal. I thought I would enjoy watching Beckinsale flitting around the screen, but she actually annoyed me.

Yeah the plot was not really there. The doorway was a bit 'convenient'. And the ending was kind of lame. I thought Dracula was pretty cool. I guess I was kind of rooting for him. So I wasn't going to be satisfied with the ending.

The Friar was amusing. The spoof with him and 'Q' from 007 was funny.

i thought there were to many plot holes for it to be coherent, but normally being on the left hand of God implies that ur his tool. Frankenstein was the only guy with a strong enough body to sustain all that electricity and transfer it to dracula's minions or something. by the way, those minions sucked, they were like crappy little things u could kill easily if u tried to. those vampire ladies were really hot, anyone know their names? the battles were cool. kate beckinsale coulda been hotter for the greater part of the movie, but she pulled it off. it was an OK movie overall

poor CGI on the movie. Very poor. Maybe if they spent more time making the movie better, not just the effects..... That's why I like the Original Italian Job, not the new one.

Gabriel was the angel given the task of protecting the gates of Heaven. You heathen bastards ...If you want action, pick up the Bible. Read the book of Revelations. Dont worry, no one will make fun of you for being educated.

                              As for story line.

"there's a bad guy over there, go have a spectacular fight and kill him"

"Good, now go kill that guy!"
Or better yet, why don't you kill yourself. No, really, die. Drop dead, don't leave a note, in fact burn your house while your little ego is stuck in a bench vice so that you'll also incenerate yourslef and everything you own with it. Because that's all you're worth. You're not even wirh thte time it'll take for the house to burn down, so just kill yourself. You're a waste of space. You are nothing, you always will be nothing. Don't leave a note, you're not worth the ink. - Tyger
