    Free credit rating online?

i was wondering if there are any sites where i can see or get my credit rating WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD ... i have tried www.freecreditreport.com and www.freecreditrating.com but there the same thing and thats what i have been told to go to, to get my credit report... but i do not own a credit card or debit card at the moment. so is there anysites that give credit reports that DO NOT NEED CREDIT CARDS???

You probably don't have any credit if you havn't ever had a card. Alot of people are telling me I should get a card, and use it a little bit to atleast establish some credit rating. Having no credit rating sucks, they wanted a $1,000 deposit when I went to get my cell phone.

The reason they offer those "free credit reports" is because they automatically enroll you in a service that has a monthly cost. So you wont find a free credit report that way.

One way to do it (since you think you have no credit this wont hurt you at all) is to apply for something you will get turned down for. Apply for an American Express platinum card (or something similar). They'll deny you, and then you are entitled to a free credit report by law.

It will count against you as an inquiry, but one inquiry is not going to matter at all. The company I work at has pretty strict standards when approving credit cards, and they don't even think about it until 7+ inquires in the last 6 months.

If you have any other credit questions just ask. There are a few knowledgable folks here, or I've been answering people's credit questions at work for the last 3.5 years.

well i had a credit card for about 6 months and i always payed in full or at least 50% of my bill each month but i found i just kept buying things so i got rid of it... and then ive had a debit credit card for a while as well but i found sometimes purchases can take upto 5 days to actually go through my bank. so i got rid of that after 4 or 5 overdrafts. i have an overdraft protection so nothing major...

im just interested to see what it is
