The article says "she saw the hole in his left side, torn open by a pellet gun". It doesnt say its a big hole and i dont think it was a big one cause the dog would not just be wimpering on her bed.
In Scottsdale, a sniper will shoot your dog if you don't clean up the poop...

So, there are pellets and pellet guns that could have put a hole in the side of that dog. Oh yeah, not to mention the fact that i saw this on the news not 30 minutes ago and it showed the hole in the side of the dog. Now, i cant speak on the "tearing" of the hole, but it still looked like it hurt alot.

i vote for shooting the owner if THEY dont clean the crap up. that or just shoot the pwn'rs for terminal stupidity because its someone in the damn appartment complex! HELLO!!!!!!!Comment
First off I can't believe im having this argument with you, but this IS shartley we're talking about, but you've just made a few statements that dont exactly fit.
First u say this ^....
Originally posted by shartleyAnd you are correct, some pellets have points on them. I use both the pointed and flat ones in my guns, and BOTH will stick into wood if close enough to it... as will a BB
then u say this ^
then ^Originally posted by shartleyI would say unless the dog showed the woman where it was hit (such as by licking the wound), she would have been hard pressed to even FIND where the pellet may have hit, or even penetrated.
and then ^
Im not entirely knowledgable about the physics of a pellet, pointed or blunt, but a cheaply made two cent pellet made who knows where probably doesnt have the cleanest entry wound.
Now what do u mean when u sayWhat does that mean? "and your statement leads me to think otherwise"Originally posted by shartleyHeck, you even stated that you saw the hole, but did you see anything that could honestly be considered tearing? I am sure if you had, you would have openly posted about it, and your statement leads me to think otherwise.
WTF! what statement?! think otherwise what?!
anyways...i forgot where i was going with this other than i think you like to tap dance your way thru a discussion using big words, and your endless knowledge about such things as tearing being "collateral to the surrounding area"
and im sure you'll post another long, drawn out, rebuttle <------i can use big words too!

See my above statement.

lol, ur all going too deep into this. The fact is, some guy shot a dog. Pellet gun, or .22, he still shot at it. and while it may not be as painful or dangerous as a real round, its still not a light matter.
Its like some guy shooting another guy with a pellet gun. If its possible to shoot someone with a pellet gun, it makes it possible to shoot it with a real round.

I think the REAL point is that the lady was warned twice and still didn't pick up her dog's $%!#.Originally posted by Glickmanlol, ur all going too deep into this. The fact is, some guy shot a dog. If the penalty were the same as shooting the owner 10-1 says he'd do that. But if you shoot a person it's assault. Depending on local laws if you shoot a dog you might get cruelty to animals or something like that. A bit different.Comment
All I can say is thank god they didn't use a paintball gun!!
Of course the dog would have been shot more then once, but apprehending the culprit would have been simpler. Just look for the guy with a Flatline Tippman and Ghillie suit!

a pellet can easily go through a dogs skin and people forget that animals have blood, the wound was probally still bleeding a bit, it wouldnt be that hard to spot on a short hair dog like that, heck even patting the dog youd be able to feel it, we have a long hair cant and had the smallest little wound from fighting (she kept chewing the scab) and we could feel that, and no one even knows what kind of pellet gun this arse is using until they catch him so there gos all your argumentsComment
my dog was shot with a bb/pellet gun, and it pierced the skin. It had to be taken out by the vet. However, it did not do anything serious.
The reason he was shot is not appearant. My neighbors shot him though. Keep in mind this was on a farm, where everyone has a dog, even the neighbors, and it runs loose without incident otherwise.AO #765
