good video editing software...???

    XP has a movie editor? thats news to me. But i guess that teaches me to look through all that "useless extra crap" that comes with a computer before i ask a question like this.

    I'll have to take a look at it and see what i can do.

    Thanx for the suggestions, even though most seemed quite extreme in price.

    by the way Captn_Jack, i wouldn't mind an oscar

        Yup.

        Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Windows Movie Maker

        It's pretty simple to figure out and is surprisingly intuitive for a "first try" at a product by Microsoft. If you haven't done so already, I would suggest installing either Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2 RC1 first, then updating with any remaining patches to get Windows Media Player up to the latest and greatest version, this will include codecs for video compression in Movie Maker.

        The only downside to Movie Maker that I have found is that it can be tempermental with regards to your sound card. Make certain all the proper, newest drivers for sound are installed as well. Movie Maker won't load without a sound card, period.
