    Yet another music recomendations thread

I figure I usually find a couple good bands in every one of these threads, so why not make another
And I just realized that I had been throwing gift certificates I got into a basket for the last several years and have a few hundred dollars at various music stores that arn't expired

I think its easier to say what I don't like. I don't like:
Any rap (there goes half the music out there)
        Classical
        Country
Real heavy metal (some of it I like, I like disturbed (one of my favorite bands) and korn which could be classified at metal, but it isn't as heavy as some of the stuff out there).
Blink 182, the ataris, stuff like that I don't like.

Other than that its pretty much open season.

As for what I do like:
        Disturbed
        Godsmack
        Evenenscence (some of it)
        Older Greenday
        Nirvana
        Korn
        Audioslave
Silverchair (ok, I bought it because it was only a dollar)
        Rancid - Indestructable
Jerry Cantrell - Degregation trip (havn't heard the rest of his stuff)
I think chimeria is good, I have to go listen to the sample again though.

That is the extent of the cd's I have that I actually like, although I have about 80 total
Thanks for the suggestions, i'm going to go check out the ones I got.

If you already like Jerry Cantrell's solo stuff then I hope to god you've got some Alice in Chains in your catalog already, its right up your alley. Godsmack, and a slew of other bands, is just a complete rip off anyways.

You would probably like old White Zombie too. Both of their albums are great. However, their debut album, La Sexorcisto, sounds grittier and less fancy than Astro-creep 2000, wich is why i like it better. Its all campy, horror movie rock 'n' roll at its best.

You might like NIN and Ministry if your more into industrial, they both rock and have both spawned a million imitators.

You like Audioslave so once again I hope you have some R.A.T.M. and Soundgarden in your catalog, you really cant go wrong with either of those bands.

Everybody should like Guns N' Roses and AC/DC nomatter what they listen to, its just common sense.

Most of these bands have greatest hits albums if you feel like you need a "taste" first before you buy one of their real albums. However, if you do like them I would strongly suggest you buy their real albums. Often, some of the best songs on their albums did'nt make the best radio friendly singles.

well ill just put some cd's that i own since every cd i own is a favorite of mine:

foo fighters- all my life and the colour and the shape however i like all their music just havent gotten around to buying the cd's yet

A Perfect Circle- 13th step and mer de noms are cd's i also like

Tool- of course, all of them are great the ones i listen to the most however are Lateralus, AEnema, and Undertow

Rage Against the Machine- personally i only own evil empire as of this time (my brother stole half my cd's when he moved into his house and hes moving back so hopefully ill get them back sometime soon) but i like a majority of them

and i also have Stone Temple Pilots- Thank You, it basically has all my favorite STP songs on one cd so i like it alot, but the rest of the cd's also have alot of other songs i like too

then there are some other bands such as green day, red hot chilli peppers, etc that i dont own the accual cd's as of this time but i do listen to alot

I actually got an alice in chains cd this morning, forgot to post that. Good stuff, I might get another one.
I'm definatly going to pick up some rage against the machine, oar, sublime 20th century masters (has all the songs I actually like on it), rancid, Lo-Pro, and Cold.
Then on the questionable list is Lawrence arms, suicide machines, strike anywheres, and rise against revolution.
As far as the chilli peppers go, I only like a few of there songs, so I put together my own disk.

Thanks for the recommendations, keep em comming.

If you like all that nu-metal stuff, you should get into good metal. Get:
Converge-Petitioning The Empty Sky(one of the bets cds ever!)
                              Ministry-Psalm 69
                              Slayer-Reign In Blood
Metallica-Kill Em All(Anything after "...And Justice For All" sucks)
Anthrax-Persistance Of Time *OR* Fistful Of Metal

You should get some thrash too like:
                              DRI-Thrash Zone
Zeke-Kicked In The Teeth *OR* Dirty Sanchez
                              S.O.D.-Speal English Or Die

                              ...And some (good)punk:
                              Adolescents-Adolescents
                              Dead Kennedys-Plastic Surgery Disasters
