Yes, I'm begging for money, but at least it's for a good cause. If you're not familiar with it, the Avon Foundation hosts an annual walk in various cities to raise money for breast cancer research. Participants are responsible for raising $1,800.00 per person and I have a friend who will be walking in Chicago June 5-6 and is currently falling short (she herself must pay the difference). At this time, she's about $1,000.00 short.
I'm asking the AO Army to get involved with a charity that will very likely have an impact on at least one woman in their life. The lifetime risk for women to develop breast cancer is a shocking 1 in 8! I would sincerely appreciate any donations you can make to my friend. If you donate, please list your name as "firstname lastname AOArmy" or "AOusername AOArmy" so I can track your donations. I have pledged to match, up to $150, all donations made by AO members (I'm also doing the same with my coworkers). I don't care if you only donate $1.00, but she, all women, and I would be forever grateful for ANY amount you can spare (please make sure you show your name and donation amount).
