Yes, I asked for your opinion on what music to buy based on what I currently have, neither fit in any categories that the posted bands are in.

I didn't mean to make you mad

        Some more:

        Form of Rocket
        Blondie
        Avenged Sevenfold
        An Albatross
        Boysetsfire

Blah, most of those don't even fit in any of your categories. But they rock anyway.

as the others have already stated, sXe stands for straight edge, a philosophy embodying abstaining from a life of drugs, alcohol, and promiscuous sex. it was first called "straught edge" by the band minor threat, but the movement had been around in the underground washington, dc punk scene for a couple of years. it is a movement for a lifetime, and i know i will carry it with me for the rest of my life.

but enough of that. go buy some ska.

Something as a suggestion to try is take a look look at the Oh Brother, Where are thou" sound track. Some excelent folk music that if you truly enjoy music no just a "type" of music then this is a great CD.

Something else I might suggest would be a irish Pipes folk cd or even the Benidictine Monks chant cd's All great music.

              I don't think I saw any of the following in your list;
              Moby
              Red Hot Chilli Peppers
              Nirvana
              .

That is exactly why i don't like straight edge zach, you have thrown in his face the fact that hes a bad person for not liking sXe or being sXe

sorry if that was misunderstood. yes, i was being a dick, but i was simply parodying the fact he explicitly stated no sXe. i had no intention of implying that espo is in fact a bad person. hell, i dont even know the guy. but from what he said, he was pigeonholing all straight-edge bands as ultra militant hate edgers who go out and beat stoners up after the show. as you know, i really hate that stereotype. so i apologize if i sounded like an elitist bastard, that certainly wasnt my intention.

One gripe I do have with sXe society (only some of it), is their apparel which promotes violence, especially towards drugdealers/users (... not all of them are horrible people, and alot of sXe'ers just don't realize that).
as i posted above, i guess my post could have been taken the wrong way. there are several straight edge bands out there that are not very vocal about it. hell, if i didnt tell you they were straight edge, you probably couldnt tell otherwise. its still good music. however, it still proposes an interesting moral dilemma. for me at least, holding straight edge beliefs brings with the idea that using drugs and alcohol is morally wrong. does this mean that everyone who uses/sells/promotes/whatever is a bad person? quite frankly, i dont know. but i dont really want to fight over this. so lets be friends.
