i posted this on the other thread for this topic as well, however this story is slightly different.
at my school (Folsom High near sacramento) some kid hacked around the school's firewall and got onto the sight and watched the video of the american civilian beheading in iraq.
there was a bunch of people who saw it and someone told their parents and the parents complained to the school (which is to be expected).
however the variation between the 2 incidents (the incident on the other thread) lies in the fact that the teacher was unaware this was taking place in his class. he is currently on temporary suspension and is up for losing his job.
I have personally spoken to students in the particular class period when it took place and they told me the teacher told them how to get around the school's firewall.
i don't know whether he knew that they were getting around the firewall for the purpose of watching the video or not.
students had a petition that they were passing around today in hopes that they could collect enough signatures, from both faculty and students, to let him keep his job.
