    Firearms training classes

    Hi folks...
while some of you should say that I shoudl never own a firearm....i think its time to get my first...but before I do that, i figure i should get my FID. Which classes should i take? should I take the NRA reccommended ones from their website or should i find some others? Can anyone in the Northern Mass Area reccommend one? also, if i take a class in NH, can I still get my FID in Massachusetts?
1DE or Tuna...feel free to jump in as yall seem to be knowledgeable on the subject

I would look at the course cataloge of the nearest community colleges. If you don't mind a drive call Massasoit CC in Brockton I know they offer a course for (I think) $150 taught by two local cops and at the end you recieve an FID. I see no reason other CC's wouldn't offer it.

As for the NH to MA transfer I would call your local PD for more info. After all they are the ones who will be issuing the card. That's just my opinion

i would really love to find something in the Lowell, MA area...could I stop into my local police precinct and ask where classes are given locally? Would there be another local place I could visit? the Lowell Police arent exactly the nicest people in the world(mind I am a totally law abiding citizen, but they are just not polite to ANYONE)

Personally I would check with the local PD and see what they have to say.Perhaps they may have some info in regards to what your looking for.If not,I'd probably see if there are any local NRA members or associates that can provide info.

I got my Concealed Weapons Permit at a class given during a local gun show/swap meet. Check for those in your area as well.

If none of that helps, you should then move here to Florida, you don't need crap to own a firearm here.
