Agree. I dont see how people call this music. Honestly. Screaming into a microphone and bashing the drums isnt music. Its Mayhem. Listen to Jethro Tull. Listen to DMB. Listen to Steely Dan. Listen to Weather Report. Listen to Dreamtheater. Listen to Clapton. Listen to Floyd.

Now those are some top class musicians playing some top class music.

We like there music that means you dont have to if you dont like then fine, but i really dont care to listen to you guys say that you dont like it and this isnt a thread about how you guys hate slipknot. If you meet slipknot in real life they are nice. A little on the weird side at times but they are nice and the reason it took them so long to put this CD out was not because Corey made the group Stonesour it was because one of the group members went to jail after a high speed chase. BUT I DONT WANT TO HEAR YOU GUYS COMPLAIN HOW YOU HATE THEM I DONT CARE IF YOU DONT LIKE THEM.

Nobody can actually prove that some music is better than another kind of music. And if you think that Joey Jordison (the drummer, and the only member of the band that I know) doesn't have talent, then you should be shot. May not be your style, but he does have talent.

Slipknot's not Death Metal...

But they are up there with ICP and Mushroomhead as one of my favorite bands. I got the new CD the day it came out(even though I dl'd it a while before it came out). It's pretty good but I think I like the older stuff better.

I couldn't get the quicktiume thing to work, tells me I need a MPEG-4 plug-in but the server is too busy for me to download it. I suppose I should just download the whole quicktime prog again but I don't feel like waiting 2hrs just so I can mess with the interactive part of a cd...

And yes, they came out with a new album last tuesday called Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses). Have you been under a rock? lol. There was a thread about it a few weeks ago.

no not iowa, that is old, they did get back together, but i haven't heard the cd yet i wanna go get it now. i'll let u know if i think it is ne good and guys seriously there is no need to bash slipknot, if u dont like them keep it to your self no need to tell everyone, you know we arn't PBN,

He's not flaming your thread, he is giving his opinion like you asked people to do. It's good to hear differing opinions on the album, it helps people make wiser decisions before spending money.

Back on topic, I've heard the single they released, and it sounded great. I really haven't heard any other stuff though, so I'm hesitant to buy this album based on one song. Is most of the other stuff on the album similar to the single they have released?

hobo...IMO if you like just about any of their old stuff, you are gonna wanna pick up this album they got some lower key stuff thts really great. im listenin to it now actually...i cant turn the damn thing off!!!
