well if you want to blow it up like this vcr video i would say go to the store and get yourself a box of those snap pop things you throw on the ground and you should be good to go.

in my opinion shooting a cell phone would make it explode rather well. i wouldnt use anything less then a 30-30 though :)

I'm kinda disapointed, but atleast it was pretty safe.

Back when I was a kid pipe bombs were a very common thing. Today, you would get busted because people would be thinking you were trying to blow up school or eachother. We use to see who could make the biggest pipe bombs by seeing who could blow the biggest hole in the ground. I once blew a decent sized tree out of the ground, and a buddy blew a hold about 3ft in diameter in the ground. If we would have stuck one of these bad boys in a VCR, someone would have died.

On a side note. Try a sledge hammer next time. Also use a TV or monitor. Nothing is better than watching the glass explose. But remember, wear goggles, as flying glass in the eyeball is not a fun thing.

Remember, be safe, don't kill a friend while trying to kill home appliances.

Yeah, we did look for a sledgehammer. We didn't find one that was good enough. We found like a 5 pound rubber headed one, but that wouldn't suffice.

List of items my socially deviant friends and I have destroyed and method utilized.

Unfortunately no videos exist (or fortunately depending upon your view of the law). An old neighborhood freind of mine who is about 6 yers older then me was an EOD in the Marines and whenever he came home we would have tons of fun.

thrown out office copier - dropped from third story window, large remains blown up with various sized homemade gunpowder bombs.

Soda vending machine - interior destroyed after 3/12 pound blasting powder bomb was detonated with door closed. We had to drill the lock mechanism then duct tape the door closed. We took out the soda first though.

Payphones (yes, there were many) Small shaped charge to open the coin box then a larger shaped charge inside to really mess stuff up.

Concrete ceiling - This was the best to date. About 15 - 20 minutes after this particular event the building partially collapsed! It was an old derelict building near our neichborhood which has a very solid and thick concrete main floor. It took us almost two months of prep time and used I believe 25 - 30 small sized bombs that were probably all of an inch and a half wide by 4 inches long. We drilled holes in the floor to fit the charges, attached the blasting caps and detonation wires, dropped them in the whole and placed a heavy sandbag over the bombs. The whole was in a huge circle and when the charges went of together a huge section of the concrete floor just dropped into the basement. We just stood there looking at the whole and quietly giggling like the maniacs that we were [are]. After we left and went home we heard all sorts of sirens coming from where the bulding was so we ran back over there and saw that two out of the four walls and a good portion of the roof had collapsed in on the building. This one was our Everest. All the parents and the police knew it was us but they had no evidence.

Other than that we have used jet fuel to make napalm and coated computers, cars and bushes with the stuff then ignited it. We launched an old Mac to a height of almost 80 feet using large scale model rocket engines.

Let's see, what else? Oh! the detcord! Detcord does not "explode" so much as it just burns relly fast. It burns at a speed of 200 feet per second I think which is essentially an explosion.

One time while camping out in Colorado a few years back my Corps buddy got his hands on some of the stuff and spent about three hours wrapping the trunk of a fairly large tree with what must of been a hundred feet of the stuff. The trunk was wrapped in a single tight layer from the ground to about 6-7 feet up. We stood well back and uphill from the tree and when my friend hit it all I can say is that the wrapped section of the tree simply ceased to exist. It just vanished and the tree just fell. I almost pissed myself on that one.

Then there are the times that we would explore various city sewer systems and would use small plastique charges to blow locks on gates and doors so we could get around.

We were sicko kids [yeah, kids. I'am alomst 31 and was doing some of this stuff just a few years ago!]

There was this old toilet, i'm going to take the 5th amendment about the location of the toilet, but it hadn't been used in a good 60 years and was still installed. We poured half a gallon of gas into the toilet lit that and threw a paint can in (aerosol). Took about three minutes to go up and we were about half a mile away at that point. The thing was LOUD, two hours later we came back to find a still burning very messed up toilet. So my friend pokes it with a stick (keep in mind this is in an abaondond building with a collapsed roof with drunk and high people romeing around all the time), and that was the most horrible smell ever, 40 years of drunk feces, urine, puke, rotting leaves and animals.
