I restored this after he deleted it. But I cleaned up the rude comments. And I am enjoying it and and not going to let any of you ruin it.

at first i thought "wowee, tractors." but then i thought about it and thought, "those things can probably pull at lot more than my car, and probably goes faster and gets better mileage." i know what i'm driving to college come september! seriously, though, it's good to see some hobbies that are out-there in terms of popularity. it gets old reading about paintball and other sports. methinks tractors are gonna be the next fad! more pics!!!!!!!

Wow, I didn't think it was that rude. I thought I said that that was pretty cool, my bad. My friend owns this tight old tractor and when he say the paint starting to chip we decided to paint it candy apple red with flames down the side. The thing is that he moved and sold it and I can't find my pics of it. It was tight though.

I'm a wee bit out of my league here and all, what with living in a more...urban area. I don't think that I ahve ever actually seen a tractor my entire life. What were you guys "pulling"? It is like a tug of war tpe of thing? And wouldn't you be afraid of damaging the tractors? You said they were antiques and all.

One of my moms friends is like uber rich and her dad (the man that made their fortune) had a antique tractor stolen from him.... It was worth a small fortune.

i think he means the most common ones, but i could be wrong, tractors are really powerful, how much does the sled weigh that they are pulling?

They start with the wait of the tractor. most of the tractors I took PICS of are around 4500lb.
the sled starts at the wait of the tractors. Than they go higher to start eliminating some of the tractors. Don't for get the sled is not on wheels it is being dragged.

Ya if it was a high-crop John Deere they can go for as much as $40,000.

If your grandparents lived on a farm they will be able to tell you how much easier the tractor made there lives.

I think that it's great that some people actually care about these tractors. All too often I have seen trucks, harvestors, tractors, bulldozers, you name sitting on the side of the road, rusting. It's pretty sad....

So I started photographing these pieces of machinery, hoping to someday publish a book with them in it, and a good narration. Hopefully I can...

Maybe I'll dig one up and post it. Till then, good luck with your efforts. It's great that people have the will to do what you, and all of the others, do.

                              Very cool.

I'm gonna have to take a crash course in tractor pulling. My father has just started to collect old tractors, and I have no idea what he is talking about most of the time.

Other than I now know a lot more about prewar tractors than I knew before
