Looks as though all of the car oriented threads have dropped off of the hot 50. So here's a new one.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here wanted to get down on a group rim order. I've been talking to the owner of simplyaudio.net, and I've persuaded her into cutting me (and any others involved) an insane deal on Enkei/Konig/Prime wheels if I can get 5 or more people together for a group buy. I've got myself and one other so far.... Check out the manufacturers' websites and lemme know what model you want and your sizing information (bolt pattern, offset, width).

hm... does she carry SSR rims in that deal? I like SSR rims but I can't drive yet so I'll have to pass it up...

Sweet deal Sun Warrior! I am happy with my BBS rims on my Jetta, but I am curious, can she get body kit peices or is this stictly rims? I want the Projectzwo front spoiler for my jetta. Everyone wants like $560 for it but thats insane! I will eventually get the whole kit, if she can cut a good price i will take it all from her. Heres a nice side shot of my baby!!

          Wolfy

Its got the Audi TT Turbo 4 cylinder 20 valve motor. It's only 150hp and 162ft/lbs of tourque but it still MOVES. 0 to 60 in 6.8, once its chipped I will be at 180hp and 210ft/lbs of tourqe and prolly be right there with a WRX in 0 to 60. Sub 6 sec. They will still own me on the autocross and courners though. Damn AWD . Its got a sport suspension too but I want H&R coilovers on her to drop it like 1.8 inches or so, and get a rear sway bar.

But man this car is FUN!!!!

I'll check up on that for yah. What chip equates to 30 hp? I'll be installing an underdrive pulley and geting my cylinder heads ported and polished. It'll yeild me a nice 25 horsepower. My ambition, some guy with the same car is pushing 350 hp and 5.5 0-60 ALL MOTOR. Betcha won't find an import motor capable of that.....or can you?

TT engine? quick? I drove my aunt's TT over the summer. It's a decent car. Not a 0-60 screamer or a quater mile head turner (easily eaten by ricers.....believe me). It handled like nobody's business. stock 18" rims and Y tires. However, it still sucked up a storm when it came to racing . I just don't like engines that need to be wound to the point where the feel like they're on the verge of exploding in order to produce and HP or torque. Just unnatural.....

Well, I dont know what kind of car you drive but I do know my imports. And I dont know weather your aunts TT was the 225 HP version or the 180 hp version, still they are the same 4 cylinder turbocharged engine as my car. Its just simmered down (but the new 1.8T VW's for 2002 are all 180HP, simple software upgrade). The chip I am talking about for my car is either a GIAC, Usolute, AutoThority,.... there are many companies out there that make chips for the 1.8T VW's that easily give 30 hp. Most of them give a 40hp boost and a 30 or so ft/lbs of tourqe boost. You see, the 1.8T engine from VW was designed from the ground up to be turbocharged so it is VERY much able to handle it. Now I know there is no replacement for displacement, but it is a VERY impressive engine and can hold its own. My dads vette is just raw power and I love that too. But I'm talkin about import tuning. Mainly european import. I dont know about ricers crushing your aunts TT easily, unless those ricers cars are modded out the butt. But I do know that the TT is no screamer, its not meant to be. But it is a very respectable performer. And no, VW's engines dont have to be revved like crazy to perform!!! The 1.8T produces 100% of its tourqe at 1250rpms! And produces max horsepower at 3250rpms. European imports are about power, where as hondas and those japanese imports love high revs, cause if you ever look at the specs you see that 99% of them produce max tourqe, hp above 3500 rpms, well above. AND most of them dont produce as much, or more, tourqe than hp. When any american musclecar enthusiast knows tourqe is what moves you.

And what do you mean about not finding an import motor capable of doing 350hp and 5.5 0 to 60? I know of several euro import motors that can do that, but do you mean in terms of equal mods done to the motor? Cause I dont know what motor you have. Nothing beats American Muscle in my opinion, but I do love looking at how imports try to compare and sometimes surpass american motors. Its amazing to see what different countries and companies can do with the same basic combustion engine.

I mean, look at the new M3's engine! 333hp and 353ft/lbs of tourqe, pushes that car 0 to 60 in the sub 5 seconds!! So many factors to involve and such, but all that power from an Inline six!! Thats just crazy.

Or how bout the new LS1 chevy engine, the 427 in the Tiger Shark prototype. 725hp, 690ft/lbs of tourqe from that sucker! Thats just SICK. Of course, its supercharged but still, i think non supercharged that motor does 585hp. You can buy the motor for a cool 30 grand! hahah

                Katech Engines

Im sorry im ranting, you prolly dident read all of this! I love talking cars and engines. Im a true afficianado, i love all cars for different reasons. lol.

her TT was a 2001. I dunno about how horse power it produces on paper, but on the street it's a dog. The thing had a honda esque powerband so to speak, but it was nothing spectacular, even for a turbo. Trust me. Power to your euro tuning. It's not that often you find someone doing it simply because it's too expsensive to get into imho. Money wise, the guy invested $400 into his car. Invest $400 into yours and see what you get. Not taunting you, just wondering where $400 will put a VW. I'd still love to see a chip which yields 40 horsepower. That just doesn't make any sense unless you have a rev limiter on your car or something. Mebbe if it was a turbo, thus allowing you to mess with boost kick and pressure electronically, but yours is NA. Kinda curious. Oh well, I still love eating rice (both asian and euro) in my Z34 and my daddy's ZR-1. As far as HP ratings go, wtf??? I drove a friends A-6 the other day and it's supposed to have something like 250, and the car felt like it barely had 160. I dunno....

My car is a turbocharged 4 cylinder and the chips do yeild 40 hp. The turbo on the VW's and Audi's are electronically controlled throught he wastegate, and stock the ECU is only allowing 5psi of boost, but the turbo in the car can easily do 4 times that. So the chip adjusts that, and it adjust air to fuel ratio to make it run a little richer, and vioala, 40hp boost! heres the link to a shop that sells them: http://www.pes-tuning.com/ click on "chips" then click on "VW" and check it out!

Also, putting $400 into my car wouldnt even get me the chip!! HAA, thats why I said "there is no replacement for displacement". Cause I do realize that.
