American Tax

Hey guys, need to know quickly, how much are americans charged for tax? I'm ordering something from the US and need to know how much it is (I suppose, Or would I use Canadian tax?)

It varies from state to state..
I dont know anything about taxing really, but I thought they can only tax you if you live in the state of the store you are buying from? I dont know about international policies though. They might charge something anyway since you're over the border.

It doesn't say anything on the site about taxes (Besides the 6% for NJ residents), and all the prices are quoted as being the Totals, so am I to assume that it is in fact the total?

In the US if you are not in the same state you are ordering from you don't pay tax.

And I'm guessing you won't pay any tax, just greater shipping.

Expect to pay Canadian taxes, charged by Customs at the border. If the goods you are buying originate wholly in the USA or Mexico, you should not have to pay Duties as well, under NAFTA.

I think in NY you have to report what you bought over the internet and pay tax on that even if it wasnt' from NY. Not that anyone is actually going to do this...
