I'm not a hardcore gun person, but I do like to visit a rental range every now and then and shoot a piece of absurdly big hardware. To date I've fired a Desert Eagle .50, a Redhawk .44, a couple of .45's, and a couple of other .44 revolvers.
(best line I heard was shooting the DE.50. The guy in the next stall, shooting a shotgun at a paper target, looked over after he saw the muzzle blast and said "now that's just silly..."
It took me a minute to realize why he sounded so familiar... It was Tone Loc. ;-)
I'm taking a trip to vegas, and IIRC some of the ranges there have full-auto weapons available.
Can anyone suggest a range where I won't get laughed at if it's discovered I'm not a gun expert? I'll have a car with me, so anywhere within driving distance of the strip.
Also, since this may well be the only time I ever do this, what would you suggest I shoot to make the experience memorable?
About how much $ should I plan on spending? (given the difference between shooting a rental 9mm and a rental .50, I figure I should ask...)
