Why are you using so tall of a tire? You will have to have atleast 4.30 gears to have any bottom end grunt.

Its on ebay right now. Though now it has a measly 472.

It will need new gears, but not 4.30's. He could get away with 3.23 easily, even better would be 3.05's. 4.30's would wind the motor out way to fast.

Just make sure you build the cage decent, it looks like a death trap in that picture you posted. No triangulation, no support, and it looks like it is mounted where you took off the roof. Have you ever been in a rollover with a faulty cage? Its not fun, i would have rather had the factory roof on than the booger welded pile of crap that caved in on us. what kind of square tube is it? Wall thickness? I would hate to hear that the first trip out you crashed it and the cage impaled and killed you after it came appart.

yea we r not done with the cage. it is just the basic shell. we still have alot ofcross braces and what not to put in. itll be sturdy enough. i wouldnt get in it if i didnt think so.

and for the big tires question. i have 500+ acres of lease land behind my home. we need the ground cleareance and what not. plus itll just look kick ***

The whole point is to wind the engine up. The whole idea of having a tiny car with a big engine that can 60ft like the devil is kinda defeated by giving it too tall of a gear. The car in the auction that was posted its got 2.73 gears.... And 24 inch tall slicks to make up for it. If you do the math just to have the same final drive ratio with 33 inch tall tires he would have to have 3.68 gears or so as that doesnt account for converter slip. I was thinking of more of the stoplight warrior thing just to scare the ricers.

well my father is the genius behind all the ratio things. hes been building hot rods since he was like 12. hes building a 40 ford 2 door sedan and he has a 39 ford 4 door sedan. he just sold his 27 hiboy t roadster on a 32 frame. it had a 283 with 3 deuces had a quick change rear end and a good ole muncie transmission. that thing would get it

Thats cool. I was just thinking more in stoplight performance terms. I agree though it does look bad axe.

You know if you get a decent amount of power your probably just going to twist the hell out of that car. Your going to need alot of reenfocement.
