I've been using a loner phone for 2 months now that does not have even half the features of my original phone.

thats the problem. your phone is a loner, it needs to be more social then it will like to call people more. its lack of features probably doesnt help its confidence either.

    sorry, im loaded.

Just don't pay the cancellation fee. When people it only goes on your credit report. It will have no effect when you go to buy a house or a car and they ask why. Tell them the truth and tell them you are not going to pay it. I had a similar situation with directv. I cancelled it after they botched the install and left me with no paperwork of phone number to call. Found the number told them to get it out. They sent me a bill and I kindly sent them a letter and explained the situation and told them I would not be paying it. They offered to reduce the fee and I still said no. They got a lawyer to send me a letter and put it into collection. I also sent him a kind letter and said I will not be paying it. About a yr. later when I went and bought a new truck they asked me about this dispute on my credit report. I explained and told them I would not be paying it ever. They said "good for you" and sold me a truck!

I considered it.... but I have an imaculate credit history and would like to keep it that way. I think I'll just harass them for a while about it. I stoped by the store and told them it was war in so many words. So they know I'm going to be showing up requently. I also called the HQ twice both times they said they knew about it. It was in my file and they weren't going to do anything about it. Of couse I have been polite about the whole situation and so I politly said, I'll talk with you tomorow

I did call the local news station and their reply was "...we have 20 callers a week complaing about this and it's just not big enough to air..." But they did refer me to the BBB. Told me that enough complaints might bring about a federal action prohibiting contracts.... though unlikely (amature law....). And I talked with a lawyer today who told me non of that was true and there is nothing can do with out time in court. Just like they provocted me, getting a lawyer involve would provoke them to actually put some effort into this so I would have to conseed due to a lack of money.

I had no clue how binding and one sided those contracts are. I will never sign one again. There is a plethora of cell phones on E-bay for a fraction of the MSRP. I would be stupid to buy one and sign a contract vs just buying one outright.

Dude, It will do nothing for your credit history. Don't even worry about it. If you were wrong then I would worry. Don't get a lawyer its a waste of time. They are not going to proceed any more than just sending letters. Its not worth it for them. Its not like you have $7,000 showing up owed on your credit history. Its like 250. Easily explainable and no company would blink an eye over it.

Bill you are wrong. It will most definitely affect his credit score. It will show up as a major derog. It will slow down things he does based on a credit report. For $120, it is not worth having a collection agency put a judgement/collection against him.

Call it a lesson learned. Pay the money and then flip them off!

I know it will show up but I know it will have no effect on him getting a loan. Ok, maybe you know better. But i know it had no effect on me. I think most places know that these charges are ridiculous anyway.

It slows you down. Most places use the Fair Isaac Credit Score (FICO) system now. This hurts him there. It requires a person to review his report instead of the computer so it slows him down. It will also affect him when looking at tiered rates as in buying a car. Better the score, better the rate!

Paypal has been getting dailey nasty calls from me but it isn't helping
I filed a report against some guy who ripped me off to get my money back, the guy had actually also sent me money so he lied and said I never sent him anything. I called them about 6 times throughout the ordeal and was assured I would get my money and he wouldn't. Sure enough he gets his and I don't get mine. So now they get called every time i'm bored untill they make it right or get a restraining order

Do you think I can find a check company to make a preprinted check with my big grin and a finger watermaked into the back? I think I would like that
I would be able to make my payments with media com too. Their customer service has sucked for so long I think they would need two fingers for 3 years just to catch up.
I think DE1 might have found my long sought after way of getting even with the corporate giant

Go to a local printshop! THey can make anything. Best thing is that since it is a print shop, they won't have the magnetic ink. That means it will be a pain to process and will cost them more as it will be an exception item!

                      Go get them!
