They'd need a pretty hefty fleet of ninja or robots to defeat all of those pirates. Where is robocop when you need him?

Pirates are still a problem on the worlds Oceans. The problem is especially noticable in waters off Southeast Asia down to Australia. Nothing that passes thru those waters is really safe. From pleasure boaters, to trawlers, to giant oil tankers...pirates are really audacious and will literally try anything. As a result, the governments in the area are all but declaring it "pirate hunting season". Most governments will look the otherway if a deckhand or captain shoots a pirate, even if not in self defense. Plus, since most sea piracy happens in international waters, convictions are about a harmful and punishing as 15 minutes in the timeout chair. It's ridiculous.

But also, these pirates are not nearly as charming or as honorable as Jack Sparrow. They will rape, steal, and kill just about everyone and everything they can.

My thoughts? It's about time a government just laid down the law clear and simple. You try boarding our ships and you WILL be killed.
