anyone run a 5hp briggs motor on the bottle

yeah, so me and my friends are building a go cart, and i just started thinking for some novelty to put nitrous on it... we were orginally going to use a 340cc snomobile engine but it has conflicting exhaust ports on the jug.
so i'm thinking a briggs with one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33740

LoL... it looks like those sprayers you buy at staples or someplace, to clean your keyboard and other things of dust... all those "tanks" are, is a 12gram
IF I WANTED AN ANGEL AIR I WOULD GLUE A GAMEBOY TO MY FRIKIN TANK.

      Those arn't even 12g, I think they're more like 8g's.

I should get one of those for my lawn mower. If the engine is only 8hp(or 5 in your case) would it still give it a 30hp boost? I mean, it's probobly gonna blow the engine either way, but how fast would it go before it blew?

That will destroy it very quickly... Just use a bigger motor

i'm wondering if that 3.75 horse briggs even has enough exhaust pressure to spin that turbo.

but like 8-12 grams of nitrous at wot i wonder if it would throw the rod or blow the head off first.

Don't even think about using that "cheater" crap.

When adding N2O you also have to up the gas flow or you risk seriously catastrophic results.

              Like a figgin big boom.

              Just use a bigger motor.

Lots of things can go boom. Manifold can go boom. Piston rings can go boom. Even valves can go boom. Lots of things can go boom.

You know...B&S motors are just about the coolest things to mess around with. For my Senior project in HS, I built this go-kart from scratch, and powered it with an old 5 horse I had lying around. 'Course, when I was done with it, it ran off of Methanol, and produced 16 horses at 10,000 RPM. Hmmm...I'll try and find some pics tonight. It's pretty *****in.

that is wicked, what did you do to the motor.

                      Manifold can go boom
what manifold... i didn't know 5hp briggs motors had a manifold of any kind

If your set on using a briggs style motor look into the engines that they run in the Jr Dragster series they are all based off the briggs. They make some pretty nasty ones too. You can buy them out of the box running on alcohol. Which incidently is a good idea as the alcohol runs cool and the engines are air cooled. Also Alky is cheaper then racing gas you do have to burn more though.
You can go a long way with a smile. You can go a lot farther with a smile and a gun.

                            Whole bunch other crap.

The compression ratio on this beast is so high (16:1!) that trying too pull-start it is like trying to pull start a 747. So, I had to plunk down a couple a hundred bucks for a 12v starter. The best part is, I run a zoomie off of the block. It's a tuned pipe, so it actually speeds up the exhaust shockwave, which creates a vaccum in the cylinder, which acts kinda like a reverse turbo, if you think about it. It creates "negative boost", as I like to call it. Bah, still trying to find those pics.

you should make a go cart the way I did... old shopping cart parts and some stuff off a lawn mower... all with a VW car seat welded on top
